Thanks for all of your helpful input. You make a lot of sense. My mom lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Only have aunts, uncles and cousins in your neck of the woods. Love, Lee

Theyneed jobs, busy work, something to do that is helpingin some way. Many people will try forcing food, ect,and feel like- well, I got her to eat a little, so shewill have some strength/feel better/hang on, till wefind that magic wand. If you are accepting that thereis no magic wand they may be mad at you, especially ifyou are not there, in the trenches in agony with them. The worst I ever had to deal with were the out of townrelatives that were angry with the ones there, thatdidnt do ABC, or whatever. Most people dont do wellwith helpless, and anger comes first unfortunately, asthe response, and the greiving process. Have you called hospice? Or maybe you can organizeschedules, who will be there when, put 1 in charge ofnights, 1 in charge of talking to dr- this isimportant, esp if you have a lot of people withdifferent ideas!-1 in charge of diet-someone who wontmake her eat, please- she might do it & make herselfsick to please them. Many liver pts have an aversionto meat, any grease or oil, and smells like that.Hospice has many helpful handouts & tips that theywould be happy to give you, and a lot of times its thelittle things that get you through the day.If there is any way that I can help please let meknow, hope I'm not being a butt-insky.

All of you are terrific. One 96 yr old lady that I was helping told me that she never got over the death of her mother. Mothers are quite important to us, aren't they????

Remind people quietly and gently that there is nothing wrong with her mind, just her liver, and that she needs their love and support now more then ever. Aggression is just their fear of loss. Remind people that life is sacred and to savour each moment for they may not have tomorrow.Hang in there baby, its a tough one.

The docs think that my mom has had liver disease for a long time but did not know it. She has a multitude of physical probs, so she just thought it was her ulcer, gall bladder, general malaise, etc. There is no treatment other than a liver transplant. She does not want that. She also does not want any tube feeding or a respirator.

I decided that I had to go on with my lifesomehow, so what helped me to ease the grief was to buy a special candle inher memory, and light it. I let it burn until it burned out. I felt muchbetter in being able to say goodbye with the candle. Last night I lit acandle for your mother, and it is still burning. Before my ex took off, he would make threats about how I better be a good wife or he would take off with the children. He never did. He did not want the responsibility of caring for them. I finally decided that I would not listen to his threats. I wanted the children to be healthy and happy and I worked to do that. When he took off, he took off alone. If he hadn't, I would have gotten an attorney and had my sons returned to me. Just because I'm the stepmom doesn't mean that I'm not the best parent. It is the same for you.

It is perfectly normal for everyone to have moods. No need to apologize.

Hi Lee, How have you been? I'm just in a yucky mood I guess. Their Dad said he was going to get a home by his parents and take the girls there. I have raised these girls for six years!!!! I'm sorry. Even if it happens it will be awhile. But it's just the thought that I will get this threat everytime I turn around. Can't handle it. He see's them now 1-2 hours a day and calls that a father. I wipe their noses and their butts! I'm there when they wake up sick and barfing. I wipe their tears away when they are afraid. Congratulate them when they did a beautiful drawing or made that perfect drawing with finger paints, {all over}. Kiss the boo-boo to make it better. Clothe them, dress them, feed them. What are they going to think when they are taken away from me!! That I deserted them like their Mother? I can't let that happen... Now these idiotic Dr's that are all mighty gods, that your times up see you in six months. If you're not dying on their doorstep they have no time for you. Sorry Lee. You have been through so much lately. You are one strong lady. Love Ya's Helen

Hi Lee,

Your able to get out??? That's Great!!! I love cocker spaniels, they are such sweeties... animal cruelty just get's my goat... What are you doing these days??? 60 degrees sounds like heaven lease days :o) We got down to 3*'s night before last... We got a little layer of ice today and about an inch of snow, nothing like they were predicting...

Take Care my Friend...

((( Warmest Hugs )))

Love

Helen

Hi Helen! My helper is my cocker spaniel! He stays glued to me when I am home. He is a little angel. My other dog is still learning to trust people. She had a hard first year of life, before she was brought to me.

It is about 60 here. Some nights get down in the 30's which is cold for us. I don't use my heater because it isn't working properly. I'll have to save up and have it fixed.

Hi Lee,

I'm so glad that you are doing much better now... I've come to the conclusion that I Can't change the way I am, But I Can change how I accept it all... I can either sit around and fret about it all and let it beat me, OR I can keep on going and try and shove the pains off to the side and do the best that I can for that one day :o) Somedays I can accomplish more than others, then there's day that I get nothing done because I'm so bad... Just have to take one day at a time and always do the best ya can :o) I always tried to keep my house spotless and that just can't be done with small children in the house, at least not by me... My outside family always has something to say about it, when they would come over, which has been a heck of a long time ago, so I made up my mind the next time one said anything about how my house looked, I would hand them the dust rag, or tell them where the mop was or broom and tell them, if it bothers you so much, I wouldn't mind at all for their help :o) Only had to do that twice, Once to my step mother and once to my sister :o) They have Never said another word about how my house looks... (Their houses are showplaces, but both of them are in excellent health!)

Now, what is root nerve impingment??? I will have to look that one up :o) You take care of yourself and keep us updated :o)

((( Pain Free Hugs )))

Helen

We do like your updates!

Helen reminded me of how much better I'm doing. There was a time when I couldn't get up from the couch or drive. Now I'm able to do both!

I also have nerve root impingement. I don't wish that upon anyone.

,

LOL! You know, I pierced my nose once, and my mother went nuts! I

didn't see why....but I do now. Belly button isn't really visible,

maybe take her to a professional so it doesn't get infected? Or just

tell her to wait until she's 18, when she may realize she might not want

to have a belly button ring when she's 80. :)

Hugs,

Lee

Hi Lee!

Hows the kids?

My 14yo dtr pierced her bellybutton. Then she walked in front of me

with one of those short shirts and low pants on. It was already green.

We made a deal quick. She took it out and cleaned it just like I told

her to, and I didnt scream.

So, when your relatives tell you about the crazy woman who chained

the kid up in the closet- it might be me.

How are you?

Love,

Hi Lee,

I have several Angels here :o) No, the girls are getting no counseling, as ordered by the court :o( I have Reminded my daughter several times, but it goes through deaf ears... They Desperately need to talk with someone, as they are having a hard time living with her :o( They still don't understand why they just can't come back home to Grma... They have it better at her house though than they did their fathers, but not by much for S & B, Cas is coping pretty good, but to her that is Heaven compared to what she was going through in that prison :o(

How are you doing today???

Dearest Helen: It's not as hot as it was! That means it's only in the 90's most days!

I went to see the Voc Rehab counselor but he was abrupt and didn't do anything. I've called to ask for a different person. This one has been dragging his feet since May.

My pooch in the yard won't come in for her ear goop. I wish I could catch her but don't have the strength or agility. I have to think of any easy way to do it. My indoor pooch is right here by my feet as usual!
