Guest guest
Hi Beth....been thinking of everyone too! It was pretty scary here for awhile. Ted hates rain and thunder a lot! I was ready with flashlights and to go down into the basement but it skipped us as far as damage goes. Port Clinton area got hit hard and that is a bit to the east of me. Hope everyone is okay and with power in their own home. hugs, Gail tornados >Just a note to everyone in the affected states. I'm in Indiana. All is well >here with us. Guest guest
We used to drive through Carbon Hill, Alabama (12 lost, and 1/3 of the town destroyed including two schools) every time we came home on US 78. It is between Memphis and Birmingham. I know it doesn't look like that town in TN, but it is really devestated. My in-law's house was destroyed by a tornado in 83. My parent's house was a block away and they lost windows, a tree, and their metal shed. I also hope everyone is well. Elaine tornados >Just a note to everyone in the affected states. I'm in Indiana. Guest guest
Hi-- I'm very close to Port Clinton--about 7 miles west of me. They did get hit very hard--33 homes totally destroyed, 60 more with major/extensive damage and more with minor damage. The pictures in the paper today are unbelievable. Gov. Taft was here today as PC has been declared a state of emergency. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. The schools have been closed for the past two days and there are still a lot of people without power. My immediate area had little, if any, damage. The tornado(so) evidently hit PC/Catawba Island and then went into the lake as all we got was pretty much a typical thunderstorm--a bit windy, thunder, lightening and rain. We were lucky. Guest guest
Oh Karma, I am so happy that you came through this okay! I just skimmed through your attached news reports - although I was aware of the tornadoes, I hadn't put a " face " to them - how tragic the stories..... Guest guest
Karma, I'm so grateful you are okay. I've been praying for the families touched by all of these....at last count they were saying over 100 tornadoes. We were lucky as they passed us by....some wind damage but nothing outrageous. love, Jenni Re: Tornados Oh Karma, I am so happy that you came through this okay! Guest guest
Hello Dear Karma, I am so grateful to hear that you and your loved ones survived the tornados there. We never know when something like this can strike. It was only a few days ago that I was admiring the photos of your beautiful family and now to think that all of you had to endure something like this is almost unimaginable. I know you have a strong spirit, but it has to be difficult to go through something like this. Even if it does not hurt you directly, I am sure it has to impact your life to have it hurt others within miles of you. I will be sending my best wishes to you and yours, as always. You have become very special to me over these past years. I appreciate knowing that you are ok. Thank you for taking the time to check in to let us know you are all fine. Take good care, Rashelle Tornados Hi Everyone, Just wanted to drop a line to say that we survived the tornados that went through here. A few miles away they weren't so lucky.
