Guest guest
I started to start this a bit ago, but got side tracked...the story of my life...LOL I've been up since 6:30 and am just now thinking about getting something to eat. I think it'll be pepperoni chips and cottage cheese {well, I like them together!} I want to report that this morning I have hardly any pain in my back! I will give this experiment more time, and as long as I don't screw up and let all those evil carbs into my body, I should be able to come to some sort of conclusion as to if they are a major player in this pain. Jenni...LOL I'm sorry, I'm really not laughing at you. So you had a couple pancakes this morning. You have the whole day a head of you to fight the white!!! Have you ever used the DaVinci or Torani SF syrups? I LOVE them!!! I use them in my coffee. A lot of people use them for flavorings in cooking as well. I don't do all that fancy stuff, so I don't really know about that part of it. They are sweetened with Splenda, but I was thinking if it is in something flavored, maybe you could stand the taste? They also have a plain simple syrup. Just a thought. Love ya, Kiki
Guest guest
Jenni, If you have a Marshalls or TJ MAXX check them for the DaVinci syrups. Sometimes they have them, sometimes not. Grocery stores usually carry a small selection by the coffees, or they have a website. www.davincigourmet.com The Torani is carried in Cost Plus stores I know for sure, and has a big, big selection. I'd bet they can be got online as well. But if you can get them in the stores, there's no S & H. I usually use the French Vanilla or a mix of choc and white choc in my coffee with half and half. Tastes pretty much like a Starbucks white chocolate mocha to me, and SOOOOO much cheaper! I can't really say one is better than the other, I think they are pretty much both equal...just yummy! Guest guest
Jenni -- don't ever say that you've blown it for the day -- just get immediately back on track! I use regular Splenda all the time, it seems to work just fine with my system. One little " hint " that I read is to add a very small amount of molasses with the Splenda (for example, when I make a cheesecake and it calls for 1-1/2 cups of sugar, I add 1+ cups of Splenda and about 1/2 teaspoon of dark molasses). This takes what I call the " metallic taste " of Splenda away. Have you tried Stevia -- you can get it at any health store -- it's a " natural " sweetener and a lot of people swear by it. I prefer Splenda, but you may find that the stevia works well for you. For breakfast today I had my " cereal " , along with 2 cups of coffee -- worked out to: * 11 ECC * 600 calories * 31 g protein Since this is all that I'll eat until this evening, I like to have a fairly substantial meal. Supper will be light (a small bowl of homemade chicken soup with 1 slice of bread, buttered.... I also did nmy standard morning workout -- 40 LL exercises, plus some stretches -- and I just added (on my husband's insistence) 10 situps.... Bonnie 12-29-04 Lo-carb accountability. Let's fight the white today! Okay, I will start and say I already blew it I had sausage, good....wrapped in a pancake......bad,bad,bad!!!!!!!!!!! And I didn't stop at 1 but had to have 2 of them grrrr BUT! I didn't have any coffee or tea or anything...just my water. I tend to put too much sugar in my tea and coffee (decaf of course) and it defeats what I am trying to do. Hey...has anyone tried that new Splenda mix? I was thinking of trying it. I can't stand Splenda, it leaves my stomach upset, but thought maybe if it were half and half it might not be so bad? How is everyone else doing today? with love, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! Guest guest
Bonnie, I love the WC/C in my coffee. I got hooked on them from Starbucks and tried and treid to find the WC syrup that was SF. I'm sure both the brands of the syrup have coconut flavoed and I'd bet at least one has a rum flavored if you want to forgo the alcohol...I said IF...LOL Go to the site and check out all the flavors they have, you'll be amazed. I know I was. I've heard some aren't to good, but then I hear they are, so it's a personal taste thing, like everything else. Oh, and have any of you tired the Land O Lakes new sugar free, and I think it's carb free, I forget, whipped topping in the can? It's AWESOME!!!! I like it in/on my coffee too. I have to not buy it very often cuz I go theu it so fast. I shoot it right into my mouth, just like a kid!!!! I don't find there is any after taste at all. OK, now I wanna go get some...LOL Love ya, Kiki

Guest guest
Melinda, Walmart is exactly where I got mine. I doubt the regular little ones with the small food section wold have it. I got it at a super store one. It's less expensive than the grocery store too! Blessings, Kiki
Guest guest
No question is to silly, I ask a ton of them, so I have to believe that! It's in the dairy section at the one I was at. It's a spray can. Like that Dream Whip or whatever the name is, in the blue can...that's been around forever.
Guest guest
Kiki, your white chocolate mocha sounds good! I'll have to try it! One of our occasional treats is coffee with coconut rum (probably about a tablespoon), then topped off with whipped cream -- really good and quite " adult " -- the only problem with it is our dogs think they ought to share it and will lap it up (out of our mugs) if we're not careful about where we set them! Even though this is a late evening drink, it never interferes with sleep -- maybe because of the alcohol? Bonnie Re: 12-29-04 Lo-carb accountability. Let's fight the white today! Guest guest
Oh, good - ok, now another silly question - \ Where did you find it in the store? Is it in the diet section, or is it with regular syrups, like pancake syrups? Or here's another thought - maybe with the coffees? Melinda ) Re: 12-29-04 Lo-carb accountability.
