Guest guest
Hi Jeneen! Handmilled is the same as rebatched - meaning that the recipe uses pre-made soap as the base by grating and melting it and putting in whatever additives you want (such as essential oils, herbs and botanicals, etc.),or whatever the recipe calls for. Than it's poured into a mold to set. This is sometimes referred to as French milled and it makes a denser and longer-lasting soap. Hope this helps! Guest guest
When you melt the soapn and add the additives do you wait the 4-6 weeks to cure, or can it be used quicker? Guest guest
Rebatched soap can be used as soon as it is hard enough as it has no lye in it. It is finished soap to start with, all you are doing is grating, melting and adding a few additives and shaping into a bar. Zo www.soapandotherobsessions.com Re: Handmilled Soap - Jeneen Hi Jeneen! Guest guest
Ohh Zo and everyone else thank you for the response on my MP and HandMilled soap question. When you hand mill does the additives suspend more than adding in the very beginning? Can you melt your soaps in microwave as you do M & P? And if you don't mind me asking what is the difference between the two. Because from what I understood, the M & P didn't have lye in it either. Again, thanks in advance.
