Oatmeal First of all, one cup of oatmeal might be a little too much for a batch this size. It shouldn't hurt anything, though--it just might be rough. Okay, checking the recipe... It appears fine. Your water is on the high end. You might try 27 oz of water--it may work better. Your coconut percentage is low, and your lard is very high. This soap will move fast in the pot, and will be hard as a rock. You might consider dropping the lard down some, and increasing the coconut. More lather, still hard. Otherwise, I don't think it will lather too much. It's only at 10% coconut--you can go higher than that, and will probably enjoy the soap more. Unless you wanted a low lather. In which case, this soap will please you. It should work--let us know how it turns out! Guest guest
I meant to add that I thought, my opinion only, that 1/2 cup ground extra fine would be more than enough and be sure to hydrate it. It can be scratchy. Reduce the water to 27.
