Guest guest
Hi All, Liz -- don't feel defeated -- we're all here, pulling for you, whatever your " problems " are.... And and Connie -- wow, how nice to have lost some weight! I could use some of your success! I've been super busy here at work this week, just now getting around to reporting progress.... I'm still enjoying the same benefits that I've reported earlier (alertness, easy wake up, extra " energy " for climbing stairs and hills, etc., etc.). Something we discovered Sunday: My husband and I had a LONG drive (about 500 miles and the sun was BRIGHT) -- I was driving and I started getting road-sleepy -- did a couple of Life Lift breaths and I was immediately alert and wide-awake. We continued rotating the driving, but both of us frequently LL breathed -- stayed so much more alert! Our passengers (some of my in-laws, who are much younger than us) fell asleep for much of the trip -- but we had no problems and were awake at the end of the drive! This is an important safety feature of Life Lift! I used to get " road-hypnotized " when driving long stretches, this is so much safer! One of the " nice " things about Life Lift that I noticed this past week -- even though we had company and I could no longer do the exercises where I usually do them, I was able (with no fuss) to simply do them in my bedroom -- they are super portable! My brother-in-law is the sort who would have been poking fun at me and mimicking me if he had seen me doing them -- but I was able to easily do them out of his sight. [When we were doing the breathing while driving, both my husband and I were so pleased with the extra alertness that if he (the b-i-l) noticed (if ever he was awake) we'd have told him to back off -- probably rudely! (afraid I'm not always a very nice person lol)] However, I still have not started losing any weight! I have added the LL exercises to my regime, but not decreased my other exercising. And my diet has not changed (other than adding coconut oil, but I decreased total calories to take care of that). I noticed some tightening through the abdominal area right at the beginning -- but nothing more. When oh when will I start losing my extra weight (sob)? Or what should I be doing differently? Any hints/ideas will be MUCH appreciated... Bonnie
Guest guest
Thanks Bonnie, I know what you mean about LL helping you to stay awake. This past Monday, after only 4hrs sleep and then working all day, my sister and I drove to another town to pick up our mom and on the way home they both slept. I started getting a little sleepy and so started doing my LL breaths and it perked me right up. It is just amazing to me that it does that!!! Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, I LOVE LL and would never give it up BUT to help me lose weight I am also doing WW, ( I have tried other programs too). I think that with most things in life you have to do a COMBINATION of things to achieve your goals. Do you have very much weight to lose? I have 20 more to go! And with my LL and walking and weights 2x a week and diet I can DO IT and so will YOU!!!!! Connie :-) Re: 6 weeks of Life Lift Hi All, Liz -- don't feel defeated -- we're all here, pulling for you, whatever your " problems " are.... And and Connie -- wow, how nice to have lost some weight! Guest guest
Hi Connie, I watch my diet carefully -- basically, my husband and low-carb -- I also watch calories... I have a pesky 15-20 pounds to lose -- my weight has simply been creeping up on me the past couple of years (I'm 60) -- much of my weight seems to be in my belly. I do my LL exercises (haven't skipped a day yet!) -- and my husband and I walk (on weekends we get up to 12-15 miles; during the week we push for 5 miles) -- we golf, roller-blade, bike. We're somewhat active people, haven't had the TV on since the Iraqi War started -- but I sit in front of a computer all day, 5 days a week (although I do walk a mile (very hilly) at lunch, but most of the time is spent just sitting). We're planning to retire in 30 months (started the count down!) -- we've already got our lot (Venice, FL), 3 miles from the beach -- and I want to be able to wear a bathing suit without trying to hide! I know that there is a way for losing weight, but I don't seem to be finding it! I strongly suspect that I have to boost my thyroid function somehow, and exercise should do the trick... And of course, my husband is super skinny, can eat most anything he wants (we started the low-carb WOE to reduce his cholesterol, the doctor was going to put him on meds -- it's now super-good). I am open to any and all suggestions! Bonnie Re: 6 weeks of Life Lift Hi All, Liz -- don't feel defeated -- we're all here, pulling for you, whatever your " problems " are....
