Guest guest Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I've gotten quite a lot of e-mail from those requesting a good acne recipe. I actually have two that I use. Keep in mind, at this point I'm still only making MP soaps, but I would imagine these things could be added at trace? I try to let my soap base cool down to around 125* before adding the herbs, as they tend to float to the top. 1 c. shea butter 1/8 c. aloe vera gel 2 tblsp. nettle leaf 1/2 c. oatmeal 1/8 c powdered frankincense 1/8 c lavender flowers 1/4 c. witch hazel 1 c chamomile 1 c apricot kernals. Add these to your soap base. Barberry and red clover are also good additions. grind them up well in a blender with the oatmeal, nettle, lavender, and chamomile flowers. Another one: 1/4 cup each of sal, mango, coco and shea butters (Note: Sal and mango butters have regenerative properties that will help to make new skin and rid the teen of pock-like marks), I've also read that Kokum butter is good for this too, but have not tried it. 1 cup apricot kernals any or all of the above mentioned herbs. Also, for those nasty blackheads, after cleansing the face each night, have him use about 1/4 cut fresh lemon on his face. Leave it on for 30 minutes and rince. This helps to bring out the blackheads. After the face is clear, repeat this every other week on a regular basis. Blessings, Quote
