Guest guest Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Hello everybody, Even though this is my first message I have been a faithful reader for the past few months. As I am making a batch of goat milk soap right now I decided to discount 16oz of water from the 20 and to add 4oz water only to the lye(7.4oz) replacing the 16oz with milk which I was thinking to add to the batch after the lye. While waiting for the lye to cool down it turned like a very thick pudding before reaching 100- 105F so I poored 3oz additional water to the lye. The temp went up again and as it cools down is maintaining the liquid form. As I've never re-added water to the lye before I'm wondering if I didn't compromise it in any way. Thanks in advance.
