This may or may not work, depending on the ingredients in your gel, so I

suggest taking out about 1/2 cup and trying it on that first to see......

In a small bowl, take a tablespoon of table salt and mix it with 2

tablespoons of warm distilled water. Try to melt as much of the salt as you

can (there will be some left in the bottom of the bowl). Drizzle the

saltWATER into your gel while stirring. Do this slowly. If it is going to

work, you will see it start to thicken. It is easy to add to much and push

it back to being watery, so you have to have a little patience. If it works

for the portion you took out, go ahead and do it for the whole batch.

Ok...I really need some help here. I messed up a rather large batch of

shower gel that I need to finish up a gift set order for 33 employees at a

local nursing home. I don't have the time to order another batch of shower

gel base to make more, so can anyone tell me what I can do to thicken this

back up? I happen to have about 4 ounces of xanthum gum on hand that I've

never used...would that do the trick?

I ended up using too much fo, I guess even though I weighed everything out.

Oh, how I don't have the time for disasters like this and it has been one

thing after another with this order, the first being the amaretto oil I

posted about earlier.

Anyway, if someone can help, I'd sure love it!

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday!

I think you are on the right track with the xanthum gum. My only recommendation

is that you add a little at a time because too much and you're pooched.

Good luck!

I have a runny shower gel right now from Avon. Anyways, I plan on giving these

out for gifts and if I order a runny one on accident, I'll probably get a little

plastic bottle, tie a ribbon around it to make it look fancy and wrap it up as

well as write the scent on the bottle so those who get the gift will know the

scent.JeSsIkA
