Is that question for me?? I usually use Vit. e, and ROE, and no water. So yes.

Does the steric acid act as a preservative?

I used stearic in the last batch of body butter I made and I love it.

Stearic is used as a thickener, not a preservative.

Now that I have added Steric to my formula, I will not go back. It is not too

stiff but just right, where it won't melt during the hot seasons.

Hi Shere

Yes hon, it is to add stiffness to the mixture to help it not melt so

quickly in the jars. Here in Georgia it gets pretty hot in the summer

months and I wanted it to be able to travel without melting all in my

purse. Hope you enjoy the formulas honey. God Bless :-)
