On 10/26/2005, I had a lateral release after having sever pain to

the point of not being able to touch my foot to the ground. It was

first diagnosed as a torn meniscus, but when I had the surgery, they

did the following:

Chondroplasty of the patellofemoral joint

Lateral Release

Plica resection

IN the notes was " the trochlea was found to have sever

chondromalacia, but not full thickness tears. He has a grade III to

IV chondromalacia.

It has now been four months since surgery. I still cannot go up or

down stairs without sever pain. I am increasingly worried about my

ability to participate in sports.

Riding a stationary bike with no resistance is also very painfull.

I was on crutches for a couple of days and used a cane for about two

weeks.

Any comments are appreciated.
