Guest guest
> Before I totally give my log mold a toss, can someone point me in the direction or tell me how they swirl in these dang things? I have marbled, but I want swirling. Joyce Have you tried pouring your base soap, then coloring a portion of the batch, dropping it onto the base in an " S " fashion and then using a chopstick, following the " S " through the coloring, being sure to place the chopstick deep within the batch so the color flows into the base while swirling? hth Sherry www.herbalsoap-healingcreams.com Natural Care E-books, booklets, spreadsheets, Free downloads
Guest guest
Welp got my soap out of the mold today. I figured something was fishy since it didn't fill up as full as I had anticipated. My 3 pound mold was actually a 4-5 lb mold. Actually after doing the math it is more of a 5# mold. now I have fat bars of soap instead of a log of soap. Teaches me not to measure my molds before using em. I figured it was too large but when the vendor tells you it is a 3# mold, you tend to believe em. Next time I will pour 2.5# and will have a GREAT tray mold. Guess I learned my lesson. Cant trust what a vendor says. Gotta do your own research.. Guest guest
> could someone please explain the difference between swirling & > marbling? To me it means different things, but to others it may be all the same. When I swirl, I pass a thin object like a chop stick through the soap in an " S " fashion when blends in the colored soap into the base soap, and several passes of various " S;s " will make multiple swirls in the bar. When I marble, I drop a layer of colored soap onto the base soap, cut it in with a thin object, lay another layer of base, and then colored and cut in with a thick object like a spatula, thereby it does not seem like layers but has a marbled effect. hth Sherry Sherry's Creations www.herbalsoap-healingcreams.com Natural Care E-books, booklets, spreadsheets, free downloads
