Guest guest
Sunflower, M & P is melt and pour soap. You can purchase it online or at your local craft store. I imagine there are differing levels of quality, but I don't do it much, so do not really know. At it's most simple, you just melt it and pour it into molds. The people that use it a lot add many extra goodies, nutrients, scents, colors, and much more. ¸..·´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- Sage -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´*

Guest guest
> Can you use rose petals in soap? I heard it would turn it black but thought I would ask all the knowledgable people on this site. Thanks for any help. Hi Mountain Lady; The rose petals will turn your soap black. I know because I put some dried crushed rose petals in some melt and pour soap the soap turned a blackish purple (real ugly) and the rose petals turned a nasty black also. But the soap did smell good with the n rose scent that I used. Raven
Guest guest
So maybe if you color the soap a dark red or purple you can't see the uglieness. Do you think that would work. I want my soap to look good as well as smell good. What do you think? Mountainlady Re: Rose Petals > Can you use rose petals in soap? Guest guest
Ahhh, I didn't think to add leaves. That will most definitely help! School gets out next week and for once I am ahead of the game. I took two days off from teaching to just get gifts ready and I only needed one day off since I joined this list and learned a few ideas! What a great list!!! Thanks everybody! Sincerely, ReBecca -- Rose Petals Wax paper---no reason ReBecca....just, usually the wax paper will make for a flat side if you have a lot of M & P on your petal. but hay! if it works for you...go for it! there is no absolute right or wrong way to do these....only ideas..... as for the petals...when looking for the ones you take a part..(they really can be less expensive)..look for good shaped, color, quality, and price...when it come to silk flowers,,,, not all are created equal...oh! and don't forget to toss in a few leaves ... really makes them look even better.... Charlie! Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man " how " to fish, and he will sit in a boat & drink beer all day.
Guest guest
Thank you Sherry, I do remember previous posts about rose petals and other items turning brown in the soaps. Never paid much attention since I was not a soaper. So what benefit would the rose petals impart to the soap? Would they just be attractive for a short amount of time? Would they impart fragrance? That recipe seemed so easy, but wouldn't the Ivory soap be frosty in color and hide any rose petals inside? What about using a clear glycerin soap bar? Or half Ivor & half glycerin? Sherry, You remind me of a woman I knew 20+ years ago who in her Senior years was saddened because her and hubby never had children. They volunteered to host bible study in their home once a week. Of the 3 dozen or so study groups, Rachal had the largest group of teens up to early 20's. One of the largest and most youthful bible study groups in church. To end the story, she was mom to all of us with an answer to all our questions. At a time in her life when she most needed kids, we were there for her and her for us. Thanks for the time you spend answering these questions!
