Guest guest
Glitz, Funny you should say this. I just did 48 of these without the petals for table center pieces at a wedding reception. The flowers were Magnolias. I took every single one of them apart and dipped them, after they dried I reassembled them leaving the center of the flower natural. Lightly scented so as not to overwhelm those sitting at the tables eating but scented enough that I am sure when they are set out the room will be filled gently with the scent of Magnolias. I placed each one on a 4 inch clear flower pot tray, they cost about 7 cents each at any garden center. Before placing the flower in it I put a piece of double sided tape around the outside of the tray and set it on a paper lace doilie, pulled it up around the tray and fluted the egdes, put the flower in it and they are just beautiful. They are packed in ziplock storage bags until she is ready to use them in June. I am happy to say this is one happy bride to be and her mother in law to be is even happier. LOL Have fun with these the possiblities are endless. Donna In a message dated 4/8/2002 10:30:07 PM Eastern Daylight Time, bumbebul@... writes: > . My packaging depends on the occasion for use. For everyday bathroom use I just put them in a tray with about 30 petals, cover with colored plastic wrap add a bow or small silk flower and there it is. If I am not using Rose FO, I put a whole flower of whatever the scent is in the center also dipped this provides air freshening for the bathroom. Guest guest
Well, I'm not Sage, there is only ONE Sage, but I went to Garden Ridge last night and scoured all the floating petals in the bridal department. I got several different kinds...some rose, some tulip, some look kind of like dogwood petals in several different colors. I'm going to use Hyacinth FO, White Lilac FO, and maybe Hibiscus and/or Honeysuckle. Watcha think?? rose petals AAAAHHH! another person has bit the dust down the Rose Petal Path .....Not only are they fun .... but have not met one person who did not like them ...Any ideas on what other flowers we could do?... someone on the other board suggested using another FO but......think that would be wierd...Sage...you good at " thinking " Charlie! Guest guest
Judy darling, forgive my asking, but what is a " re-enactor " ? Are you one of those people I see on America's Most Wanted, " re-enacting " the crime? hehe No, really, what is it? Just curious! Re: rose petals Hi, I've been on the list for only a week. My husband and I are re-enactors and he is a beekeeper. I have lots of beautiful beeswax and honey to make natural products with. I am in the infant stage of learning. The only things I've made have been lip balm and perfume balm. I can't believe how easy they were to do. I have two questions. One is about labels. Where is a good source for them or do you all do your own? I have searched the archives and haven't found the receipe for rose petal soap. Would someone repost it please. I love the website and this list. It's fantastic. Judy Re: rose petals > I have done fall leaves in the fall and holly for Christmas. I also did some poinsettia petals at Christmas. Guest guest
Thanks Vicki, Okay, here we go.... -Dip your kid's shoelaces in M & P so they have to wash them before they can continue to use them. -Do the same with any piece of laundry left laying around the house by teens. -Dip a piece of your kid's bathing suit in M & P and let them take a bath with their bathing suit on. -Make food scented petals and keep them in the kitchen. -I read a study that said men find cinnamon to be an arousing scent. Dip some leaves in cinnamon scented M & P and get ready! -Dip some petals in a baby powder scented M & P and give to new parents to use after they change the babies diaper. -Dip some leaves, petals, or little pieces of cloth in M & P scented with some of the eos known to discourage mosquitos and other nasty little bugs and take camping. You can even save them and wash the dishes with them after the camp fire meal. -As a gift for a friend who has just bought a house, made a good (or bad) investment, or in some other way exchanged a lot of money, dip squares of paper money in M & P and scent it however you want. Guest guest
Luce, you can get 100 petals (already separated) in a package for $3.99 at Garden Ridge. Check some stores like that, or even Wal-Mart, in the bridal section. rose petals Okay, I've finally passed into the pathetic stage~ I went to the Dollar Tree store today, and actually counted the number of FLOWERS in each bunch! Just a hint, they have candle rings which have several more roses on them than the sprays do for a buck;^) <sigh>........ Lucinda
