Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have always made my lotions from pre-mixed gallons. Now I have a kit with all the ingredients and am not sure how to go about this process. What brand of scales are you using? I need to buy one and there are so many. Is one you can buy at Bed, Bath and Beyond in the kitchen section OK, or is there one on the internet or food supply company better? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

A simple DIGITAL scale that reads in tenths of ounces is best, you can purchase them online at supply web-sites, on E-bay, or from any kitchen type store, locally. Most cost $25 or more. If you purchase one that only weighs up to 5 lbs, they are least expensive. Most recipes/formulars are written in ounces and tenths of ounces so be sure the scale does that. hth Sherry
Guest guest
Hi , I looked around for a scale for a while and the best deal I could find was on eBay got it for half the price I could buy it locally or on the internet and that was after taxes and delivery! I bought it on eBay from a company that gave a one year warranty with it too! I got a 6.6 lb scale that measures to 1/10th of an ounce, it can also measure weight in grams. The tare feature is great because it doesn't measure the container you put your ingredients in so you get an accurate reading of ingredients. If you wanted to go a little higher in weight you could get a 13 lb scale, but I don't know if you need it. My girlfriend has a business and she bought the 13 lb scale of eBay, but she says she's never needed the extra weight. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Hi Donna, You could add a little corn starch or Natrasorb Bath to your recipe, this will help cut down on the greasiness.
