I am new to the group and you all seem to have a wealth of

information on many subjects. I am hoping you will be able to answer

this one too. Dose anyone know of a mixture or something that will

take knots out of hair? I look forward to any hints you may be able

to share. Thanks!

When I was a kid, my grandmother made us have past the waist hair. It

was always a terrible morning, always. I know this sounds nasty, BUT

she used to take the knots...and I mean KNOTS, not just tangles, out

by rubbing them with PEANUT BUTTER and brushing thru it. I know that

sounds awful, but that's what worked for us.

Hi Hannah...

If it is for yourself you may try adding apple cider vinegar to your

shampoo. It worked for me, but i make a liquid soap that i add it

to and do 1/2 and 1/2 with my shampoo (which is also free of

sls...) You may consider making your own conditioner. i have

developed my own line that i produce using a similar process to

lotion. email me privatley if you would like a recipe.

Peace

Hi Sunny

I was reading some old posts on Shampoo and was wondering if you

could email me privately with information on shampoo bars/liquid or

even a recipe. I made a shampoo once and it left a residue so I did

not try again. Now I really would like to try it again, if you can

help and you don't mind I would sure appreciate it..Thanks

Here's some shampoo recipies I found online.

Shampoo Recipes

Basic Shampoo1 bar basic soap 4 quarts rain water 2 slightly beaten eggs 1 tsp.

powdered borax 1 oz. bay rum Dissolve soap in boiling water. Let cool. Add eggs,

borax and bay rum. Stir to mix thoroughly.Note:

Bay Rum is a men's cologne that can be found in drug stores and department

stores.

Chamomile shampoo1 handful fresh or dried chamomile flowers1 3/4 cup boiling

water3 tablespoons pure soap flake, OR save leftover pieces of soap.1 tablespoon

glycerin5 drops yellow food coloring (optional)You also will need:2 heat proof

bowlsa sievea wooden spoona clean 14 ounce bottle with tight fitting cover1.

Place the flowers in a bowl and cover with the boiling water. Let stand for 15

minutes, then strain into the other bowl.2. Clean the first bowl. Combine the

soap and hot infusion in it. Let stand until the soap softens - a few minutes.

Beat in the glycerin and food coloring until well blended.3. Pour the mixture

into the bottle. Keep in a cool dark place.

Dandruff Treatment2 teaspoons dried rosemary2 teaspoons dried thyme2/3 cup

boiling water2/3 cup cider vinegarYou will also need:a heatproof ceramic bowla

fine sievea clean 10 ounce plastic bottle with a tight fitting cover1. Place the

herbs in the bowl. Pour in the boiling water. Cover and allow to steep for 20

minutes.2. Strain into the bottle, add the vinegar, and shake. Store in a cool

dry place.Shampoo and rinse the hair thoroughly; massage a small amount into the

scalp. Between shampoos, massage in a small amount before going to bed. This can

help eliminate dandruff.

Pre wash honey treatmentBefore a shampoo, use this special treatment to

condition the scalp and repair damaged hair. Use regularly if your hair is dry

or ends are split.2 tablespoons olive oil2 teaspoons honey5 drops rosemary,

lavender or geranium essential oilYou will also need: & gt;br & gt; a small cupa

ceramic or glass bowla small stainless steel spoona plastic shower capand a

comfortably hot towel1. In a cup sitting in hot water, warm the olive oil and

the honey ( or you can use the microwave for heating - be careful) Stir in your

choice of essential oil and mix well.2. While the mixture is still warm, apply

it all over your hair, massaging well into the scalp. Cover your hair with the

shower cap (or large plastic bag) wrap the towel around your head and leave on

for 10-15 minutes. For severely damaged hair, leave on up to 30 minutes.3.

Remove the towel and shower cap, and wash your hair with a mild shampoo or baby

shampoo.Makes enough for one application.AIM name:
