Guest guest
Right. This is what I used to throw back at doctors who seemed happy to let me spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. No exercise --> accumulation of fat --> heart attack. Q.E.D. I actually told my new OS (the one who did do something for me) that if I couldn't get help I'd cut off the bottom part of my leg myself and get a fake lower leg. You can run & play football with fake lower legs. Ann Chronic CP -----> Heart Attack Here's another thing to worry about: If you don't get much exercise, (because it hurts to walk or run or ride a bike), you're at risk of a heart attack. I don't smoke, eat any animal products, am not obese at all,...but recently I've off and on felt a pain in my chest. I did a flow chart for chest pain and was directed to go to the Emergency Room... So I need to ramp up my bike riding (the least painful thing for me) I suppose. -
Guest guest
Yes, but you still need functional and relatively pain free knees :-/ Mike MT Re: Chronic CP -----> Heart Attack You can run & play football with fake lower legs.
Guest guest
I had assumed that when they gave you a fake lower leg, they would fit the end of your femur with an implant so the head of the fake lower leg wouldn't grind it away. So -- no knee, no pain. Ann Re: Chronic CP -----> Heart Attack You can run & play football with fake lower legs.
Guest guest
I always understood if doctors decided to replace your leg, they do it either totally above your knee joint or below. Maybe or someone else can elaborate more.
