I know you say you can't take anti-inflammatories, but have you tried Vioxx? I had pain in my fingers too, but when I started taking Vioxx for my CP the pain in my fingers went totally away, although it only cut my CP pain by about 25 to 50%. I also have had inflammatory problems over the last 20 years, yet the doctors can find no connection. I have had part of my colon removed because of chronic inflammation and infection, tendonitis surgery in both elbows, gout (which I am taking allopurinol for--and will for the rest of my life), sinus inflammation and infection (two surgeries), plantars faciatis, and serious pain in my fingers and shoulders. The only inflammation that is currently causing me fits is the CP, but that has had me almost disabled over the last year. Mike MT
Guest guest
I understand how you feel. I've had this for 2 years, but lately it's been so bad I can hardly walk or stand, let alone work or enjoy life. I now love sleeping so that I don't feel pain anymore! I'm only 25 and I'm angry that it took so long to get diagnosed and that this happened so young. I haven't tried the knee brace yet, but I heard they're good. Why can't you do an arthosope? I'm looking forward to that, I'm hoping it will do some good, but I have to do physical therapy first. I'm getting strange pains in my foot and I wonder if it's related. It often does a " charley horse " thing. I'm trying the glucosmine, too. So far, I haven't had any luck, but I'm supposed to give it a few months, I hear. > I am glad I found this site, other people who have same problem and > lots of you... lots of information and links here too > I have been suffering with Chondromalacia for 5 years or so now but > usually with rest and physio therapy it would go away for a while. > This time though it is not going away at all. Guest guest
To Lin - yes my pain is mostly in the baby finger too and when its cold it it hurts the most - when yu have chondromalacia for a long time my understanding is it becomes arthritis - osteoarthritis and from what i have read that spreads throughout your body once yu have it in one place? this is just my guess ... i have sciatica pain also but have fell on my tailbone a few times in my life but reading up on sciatica i read that it can be from arthritis too that also attacks the articular cartlidge in your tailbone area? i have no idea what can be done for pain in hands but for your back there are simple stretches and ways to stand and bend and sleep etc that can help... also keeping at a healthy weight and strengthening your ab muscles helps ... i lost 80 pounds and my back is not as bad as it used to be but it did not help my knee but i am sure my knee would be worse if i still had that extra weight on me ...Good Luck Lin To Mike Hi .. wow sounds like you have a had a rough time ...thanks for your reply... and the doctor gave me a whole pile of Viox samples but I never tried them yet... she told me to go off the Mobicox and see if i felt better and i stopped getting sick (i needed to know if it was the oxycodone makin me sick or the Mobicox) Currently i am trying Glycosomine to see if that helps then if not i will try the Vioxx - although its not covered on my drug plan but i have enough samples to know if it will work...so... i also have been getting bad sinus infections off and on for about a year and half now- never get a normal cold i get this sinus thing instead- wierd- and my elbows crack sometimes & cause some mild pain ...doctor said i have loose joints...from what i have been reading arthritis can move through your body once yu have it in one area if thats of any help? Good Luck to u ... KeL " W.
