Hi All,

I picked up some milk kefir grains 1 1/2 weeks ago and they are taking off.

They started working right away - even though I use regular pasterized milk from

the grocery store and they came from being in raw goat milk. My 1/4 cup of

grains is almost 1/2 a cup already. I'm already asking around in my

neighborhood trying to find someone to pass some on to.

I have to admit that I like the flavor and texture better now than I did in the

beginning. I was a little nervous to drink milk that had sat out for 24 hours.

Now that I know it works and the flavor is better, I'm drinking 8 oz a day (1/2

in morning and other half at night). I've even been feeding a little to my two

very old cats and they seem to really like it.

Anyhow, I just thought I'd introduce myself since I have been lurking for 2

weeks.

I haven't tried feeding it to my cats, I have one that is seriously lactose

intolerant (throws up immediately after eating/drinking anything with milk

in it). Maybe I'll see if he can tolerate kefir. Our oooold cat (19) has

arthritis, do you think it would help her (refuses to eat anything except

her cat food - won't even eat cat treats).
