It would be with me.  I just found a source for raw milk and there's no

comparison.

Subject: Milk choice

Hi,I have a choice of Pasture feed, homogenized ,pasteurized, cow milk. Or grain

feed,(and what else, I have no idea) raw cow milk. Is raw always the best

choice? Thanks for any input. Lydia

Hi Lydia,

Raw milk is the best choice if you get it from a reliable source, for instance,

the farmer I get my raw milk from has his milk tested weekly. Raw milk in

itself is a probiotic and has all the enzymes which pasteurization cooks out..

You can still benefit greatly by making kefir from pasteurized/homogenized milk.

Lydia,

That is a tough question. I think raw milk has to be from grass fed cows but I

am no expert. I can suggest to use the following sites for your own research as

they advocate raw milk and know the subject in great detail:

That is where I got my farmer from and we have a contract with him.

Hello Lydia,

Good question. Nutritionally, raw milk from goats, cows or any other mammal

is always the best. However I have found that when making kefir with pasturized

(I call it dead!) milk results in creamier and smoother kefir.

But if you have a choice for nutrition sake, use the raw stuff!

Sincerely,

Jane
