Guest guest Posted February 25, 2010 Report Share Posted February 25, 2010 Hi all, I just went over my birth plan with my midwife; and she's totally fine with my request to have no shots, vitamin k, or eye ointment. She discussed the vitamin K with me, because that's the one she feels more strongly about (she witnessed a newborn who had the bleeding disorder), so I started having second thoughts....and then because we are having a boy, and were planning to circumcise, she told me that they would NOT circumcise if we chose to opt out of the vitamin K shot. So, then I asked her if we could do the oral vitamin K, and she told me that it is not available in our country...??? Is this news to anyone else? Any advice on what I should do? I am discussing the circumcision with my husband, and we may just not do it.
