The company we used was named Dodson Brothers.

They had a team come down from VA to set up so they don't serve a lot of states

like the big ones you hear about.

As far as eggs I ask that and the answer was it gets everything one time.

I am stil not sure it does because walls and attacks were just gased by the fans

and I have to wonder if gas would penetrate everything.

They did double bag any food in the referagator and then tape it up.

We had to remove the mattress covers.

It did kill lots of insects.

Sandy - If you don't mind sharing what did Dodson Brothers charge you? Are you

feeling any relief from the bird mites since treatment?

Hi bharringtonzJust food for thought:I didn't try 'tenting' but contemplated it, however found it to be cost prohibitive, like 10,000. I have also read that if not done correctly, the gas can continue to be trapped in areas of your home, which I think is mentioned in one of the posts here--signals to me that this company knows what they are talking about. I read somewhere that a couple got very sick after doing this treatment for this very reason. And there is the question, do you have a fungus growing in and around your home and environment? If you do, I would ask if gassing actually kills molds too. This is not to say that this is not a good idea, but in my opinion, if you are going to such lengths of gassing, then perhaps you might be interested in high heating [which also kills milds] and is less expensive if u do it yourself. This works but must be done consistently...something I didn't do because I didn't have the manpower or help. Drawbacks are that you have to take out all things that are valuable since they might melt, ie computers etc. And it must be done once a week for at least 4-6 weeks. I did it only once and it brought out an orange fungus that had gotten into my walls and underneath my floors. I moved after that and had to have all the walls repainted, which needed to be done anyway. One painter I met at the hardware store, told me that if you have fungus [which most likely you do if you have a bug infestation] is to mix the paint with a small amount of clorox. Don't know how you feel about this since it is more toxic. The other thing I just read was from a site that was talking about restoring artwork that had been mold infested [which to me, always means bugs too] and they recommended mixing alcohol with lysol--stated that this kills mold, hence the source of food and attraction for bugs. The things I am suggesting are obviously chemicals but I have had to resort to this after years of using essential oils, vinegar, orange oil etc. that obviously did not stop the progression of Morgellons/fungus infection--at least for me, but I have a particularly bad infestation/infection that eventually invaded my hair, scalp every part of my body. Don't know whether you have Morgellons or a regular Birdmite infestation? If it is Morgellons, then from my experience, not just one thing will do for spraying, and possibly even for gassing...the gassing will take care of the bugs, but then there are fibers etc, bacteria, molds, insects etc that are continually coming from within your body and from my experience, not just one spray would kill all aspects of this disease...So many variables...I had this in the walls of my house and think this fungus started in my yard...so in looking back, wish that after I had sprayed the yard, I would have done the outside of the house then inside spraying because I do think 'they' just scatter and resettle somewhere else if attacked. And then there is the fact that they can certainly settle inside the walls--i definitely had this and always heard weird sounds coming from within my walls. Some who suspected this within the walls of their house also drilled holes and puffed boric acid and/or DE--and a less natural approach but did the job for some people is applying Tempo inside and out [ and Bifen outside].One thing I think is still helpful and easy, is putting a strong solution of MMS in the return registers of your house so this will get into the ventilation system...then of course get out of the house for a few hours when doing this because this produces a gas. This is just one thing I do and just a suggestion to clear out bacteria and molds, possibly some smaller bugs--many good suggestions from everyone posting here, so unfortunately, it is a trial and error thing because we are all in different stages and have different bugs dependent upon your environment and where you live.hope this helped more than confused you...pdiditI think we can all agree that this is not an easy task in narrowing this down as to what you are dealing with, but my final suggestion would be to find someone who has had a similar experience as you and was successful in whatever they tried.pdidit

On it. Thanks a bunch Kim. Will comment later on MS when I get more info. Still

doing some serious data-mining.

Kim, would you mind also sending me the name of the group you intend on using?

We want to go the Vikane route as well, as soon as the weather gets warm enough

again. We live in SC.

Hi, Just checking to see if you were able to try the Vikane gas now that it is a

bit warmer...and if you had any success? Please let me know. I am thinking of

doing the same thing. By the way, I used the peppermint crystals you mentioned

and it does work, but my little dog couldn't take it. Her eyes were always

watering and I just couldn't take looking at her misery any longer. So now, I

light the peppermint crystals about 2 hours before going into my bedroom and it

seems to help.

If you used the Vikane, I sure hope it worked for you,

Terry
