I didn't circumsize my son. My DH is also intact, since he was born in Europe and they don't do circumsision routinely there. In fact, US is one of the few places that do it routinely. I don't have any links handy, but if you research the issue you'll see there are no real benefits to circumsizing. My husband's male German and Italian relatives are intact and without issue. Seems like the main reason why is that dad's do it because it was done to them. We didn't circumcise our boys. There are a TON of website online about it - www.nocirc.org for one. There are so many old wives tales and misinformation floating around. There really is NO reason to have it done. You're doing the right thing by seeking opinions and researching - it is a very touchy subject for a lot of families, but my thinking was that I didn't mutilate my daughter's genitals when she was born, so why on earth would I do it to my son? please, please, please reconsider. The two most barbaric myths surrounding circumcision are that it is beneficial and that it won't hurt the baby much. Both untrue. If you can stand a dose of vulgarity, there is also a Penn & Teller Bullsh-- episode/documentary on circumcision; watch the bit where they film the baby's face during the procedure -- and then see what your heart tells you.
