The only verified instance of BW during the war was the use by Japan .... It is

strange why the Chinese would pick insects such as springtails and stoneflies

and allege they were deliberately infected with disease and dropped on Korea.

....

http://entomology.montana.edu/historybug/insects_as_bioweapons.htm

They also reported suspect air drops containing Collembola (springtails)

although these were not known disease vectors. A 1957 US Army report described

unusually widespread R tsutsugamuchi infection in multiple mite and rodent

species during the war in the battlefield area. This paper revealed that

Collembola was used in Army laboratories for the mass culture of trombiculoid

mites.

LindsJ Springtails have many variations in color, however if they jump, are no

fleas, I would assume they are springtails. They breed fast. Treat all your

drains. Use liquid lye, or mms, vinegar. Liquid fels naptha for drains would

work too. Took me years, finally I have a handle on them. I know they had a link

to my infestation infection. By the way orange guard will kill them on contact.

They will have a nest.

You could buy the survivors, looks to me like mms would be cheaper, and as

effective.

Also fels naptha cooked poured down drains.

Thanks Marie. Before I heard from you I had put apple cider vinegar in my drains. Would that work the same or is it white distilled vinegar? What about Drano? I still don't see anything else. I am so much better since lyme treatment began 4 months ago but am now terrified of everything. I so hope that the lyme treatment will be enough to keep these things from bothering me if they are Springtails. All of you are so kind and helpful. Thank you. Linds

My sink was plugged, knew I had springtails, never thought of my drains. Used

shop vac to unplug drains. This was years ago, over three. Dumped water from

shop vac outside. My yard had thousands of springtails. I know the water from

drain infested the yard. This is when I knew to treat drains too. Vinegar would

not be my choice, nor draino. Fels naptha cooked, or, and, mms. If affordable

survivor. If you have a septic and not city or county sewage the mms will kill

bad bacteria, so if your own septic use mms little. If you see any springtail

you have more. If it is springtail, there is a nest. Read the link from last post

well, please.

I had Springtails, they resolved with Lyme treatment, I guess they didn't like me anymore. AandrayaOn May 6, 2012, at 12:34 PM, Linds J <lj_mom11@...> wrote:

I still see nothing more. I didn't have any of the things you suggested I use for my drains but I did use vinegar both nights. I figured it might be better than nothing. I don't know what to do next though since I don't see anything else. Almost scared to say it but I believe lyme treatment is what stopped whatever it was that was bothering me before but it did take 3-4 months on abx. I just hope it continues that way.

Aa there is no way just antibiotics would have solved my infestation. I had "lyme treatment" and the springtails continued, even multiplied. > >

Aa and I differ. After months of antibiotics the springtails were still here.

Put down glue traps in hot spots, for instance where you saw them.

Curious do you live rural, or inner city. Interesting I thought my months on

antibiotics may have been a attraction, fungal and immune. Long after Lyme

treatment, the springtails continued for me, visible to the eye.

The drain treatment is new on bugs spray website, but a needed addition! His

site is very informative and helped me beat the little beast. You can look on

net and find the chemicals ect cheaper too. For yard, tractor supply sells

granules for yard, make sure they kill springtail, it will list insects. Like

bug spray website said, TREAT WHOLE YARD LIKE A NEST. They nest, key in

irradicating.

I just don't get it. We get treated for Lyme and all the bugs go away? Or they

are still there, but they don't attack us? So, does that mean our homes are

safe? I don't know the answer to that. That is what I fear, this unknown. I

can only face and fight the known. The unknown is giving me pause and making me

think about all that we do not know and can not see, but which has the ability

to affect our lives tremendously. That scares me.

Oh guys!! My brain is not working right. This scares me. I am a very literate

person, but lately I can neither speak nor write correctly. The words are not

there and I get lost in the moment. This is very sad to me. Words have always

been my friends. I feel bereft without them being in harmony with me.

I doubt I have even made sense.

I am confused. Did you start with mites and move to fungus an springtails? Or

did you never have mites? Are all of these creatures somehow associated with

each other? I don't know what to think?

Mites, fungus, springtails are all attracted to the internal infection going on in certain people.

That is why they can be found together tormenting 1 person.

Treat the infection...as infection does down, a person stops being attractive to mites, etc...

depending on severity of infection, it takes time.  You should feel some relief/notice a difference relatively soon.

Many creatures are living in perfect symbiosis, meaning one can not exist without the other !
