Guest guest
Hi bluegirl This is on www . Birdmites .org main page TIPS FOR MITE INFESTATION My bird mite cure: I am a chimney repairman and I was bit to death for 2 years. A bath for 1 hour with 1 cup of baby oil was the turning point. They stopped living on me. I used sulfur 1 tsp and 12 tsp of hand lotion and apply head to toe, 3 days on 3 days off for 3 sessions...ahhhhh, relief in 1 hr and total relief by the 2nd day. I purchase sublimed sulfur made by Humco for $10.00 at www.americarx.com The clothes that get sulfur on it cannot be made odor free again, they must remain separate from others. You cannot dry them in a dryer or the sulfur smell will spread to the dryer. I hang them up in the bathroom and use the hair dryer or a fan for 4 hrs to dry. I boil my clothes in a large 16 qt pot for 1 hour 4/22/10 updated I have since realized the mix is best at 1 teasp coconut oil 1 teasp sulfur put in an opaque dawn dish bottle if you have it shake for 20 seconds then ads 8 - 9 teasp of *hand creme shake again for 20 seconds. Apply top of head to toes & leave on till next shower , then reapply . It works Baking soda in the shoes, boots are best ,*any kind of hand creme will work but healthy types are best . Don t wait to get just the right hand creme , but 365 from whole foods is made with eatable ingre. a bath in arm & hammer powdered laundry soap 1 cup per tub kills them really well & the sulfur keeps killing the also . The environment is best soaked in arm & hammer powdered laundry soap 1 cup per gallon & 1/2 cup borax for a few weeks , it all washes off . I hope this helps I used sulfur for 1 year 2 weeks on & 2 weeks off as I cold stand it . It stops the itch in 1 hr . Don t under estimate arm & hammer powdered laundry soap , it kills all the bug , I used it in the bath 1 cup per tub & it was the strongest thing I ever used to kill it . But painless & no smell The dust when it dries is not good to breathe so I would re coat it with epsom salt 1 cup & 5 cups of water . Suddenly all bugs stopped , I still have to keep up on it as I pick up new ones in the park ,docks & old trucks etc .. Its a bug Kill it , it will die . Heat teating the environmentis what zooks did & got to keep her stuff. , she is one of the only ones who did get to keep her stuff, the rest of us have thrown out many things . It is to hard to clean it all Shana at shanprations washed well with disinfectant & then used flea powder & DE ,then nylar , then burned menthol to make them come out & run. Menthol is over powering when heated in a potpouri dish 1 teasp per room . If I go in the room my eyes water even if I hold my breath . I am sure the bugss are running from it . Hopefully right into the powder. Shans site is : www . shanspirations. org/?p=112 she list all the things she used & links where to get them , it is very helpful. I have never used the powder ,I uses DE once for 1 month & breathed it , I hate it . Too bad for me .... she has been cured 3 years before me . I know now not to subject myself to the tools I am using so I don t get to full of them to use them.. Sleeping in the car , or a tent or a motorhome or vacation while treating a house sounds better . Once a product is applied epsom salt water sprayed on will lock it down & render it somwhat encapsulated in its dried minerall glaze so it dosent bother me to be around it . But it probally renders the chemical infective . Its a trade off , I can only stand powders so long, & then I gag from the dust so I soak them after as long as I can take them . .
