Guest guest
Hello, I read some years ago that the common treatment for whooping cough, back in the days before the vaccination, was Vitamin C. It is certainly what I have done with my children at times when they had a cough that sounded suspicious. Somewhere in my files is also a website where you can actually hear a child with whooping cough at its various stages in order to compare it with your child's cough. I must add that recently my family moved to another state and I took one of my children into an allopathic dr. for a minor concern in order to feel out the physician as to whether he would work with my family knowing that we do not vaccinate. He clearly stated that he had pertussis as a child and that he does not consider the disease to be a big deal except sometimes in tiny babies. (Also, my mother had pertussis as an infant but she healed just fine without any special treatment. She was breastfed.) Keep up your chin and just love your sick child. I consider myself to be so blessed because when one or more of my 10 children have been ill, as a stay home mother and homeschooling family I have been able to put everything on hold and just hold, rock, play with, and watch my children closely. Little things like a cool drink, aromatherapy, a hot herbal bath, calm music, heating pads, an open window, etc. seem to make a lot of difference in the severity and duration of any illness. And, of course, I am always trying to build up their immune systems with herbs, vitamins, cod-liver oil, fresh air, lots of sleep, minimizing stress, etc. Hope this helps! --- Sheri Nakken <vaccineinfo@...> wrote: > At 07:16 AM 4/2/2008, you wrote: > >so after 4 weeks and 2 courses of antibiotics Dad > came home from a > >doctor's appointment... with a diagnosis of > pertussis! well, the > >doc said take this antibiotic if your cough clears > up it is > >pertussis- if not we will try something else! > > I asked him, if he told the doc that we have a > 17 month old that > > has not been vaxxed? not to mention she is in day > care and are > > there any percuations to take... of course he > didn't... > > my question.. > > -is that the way the medical community tests for > pertussis???? > > seems strange to me. > > -our daughter has a nasty cough- we have brought > her to the ped 2 > > times and they said it is teething. > > -is there anything we should do? > > > > Liz > > > Insane > > http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/diseases/pertussis/hcp/labfacts.html > here is how you test for it. > > Every child with pertussis is different - some very > mild and some not so mild > > I will send homeoopathic treatment info and see if > one of the > remedies matches her symptom picture. > > Sheri > > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ You rock.
