It is outstanding that you are so active and living life to the fullest again...! I am thrilled to hear of your publishing of your book...that is a major accomplishment. Please be sure and let us all know where we can purchase it as your heart and soul were shared with us so freely during much of the writing. I feel like it's been such an honor to share in the experience with you.

Hey when you finish cleaning at your place could you please come to mine, lol. I have gotten into going out every day and haven't put as much into house stuff as I need to...it will be there when all the excitement of being back in the world settles down.

Love ya,

From: VickieG <onelildeltagirl@...>Subject: Checking inHepatitis CsupportGroupfordummies Date: Thursday, August 14, 2008, 8:40 AM

Hi everyone,

I decided I better check in. It's been awhile since I posted. Life is so busy since I finished tx. Catching up on yard work X 2 and house work as well as writing fills my days completely. But, I can handle it now, thank God. I almost long for winter now so I'll have more time to sit at my desk.

I would like to welcome the new members that joined since I posted last. There have been a lot of you. You couldn't be in better hands for support and information. When you are down and out, reach out and touch someone here. When you are feeling good, reach out and touch someone here. Either way, you can help someone or be helped by someone. It's a wonderful team of good people in membership here. I feel much better. Can you tell?

I signed up with a publishing company yesterday. I don't know how long it takes to make a book, but the process has begun. My book will be titled, "The Silver Dragon" (Hepatitis Awareness Poetry) and, I am nervous as heck with a lot of "what if's" in my head. This book contains poems about real life experiences with hep-c and tx by members I met here and on other support sites. I hope it will help someone out there in some way.

I'll be trying to catch up on reading emails for awhile as they have piled up on me.

Love and hugs to all the loving hearts here. VickieG

((())) Thank you for all the compliments. (curtsy, curtsy, curtsy) hehehe

I think life has just grabbed me off the shelf and thrown me in. My head is swimming today. I can't concentrate on anything for too long at a time. But, I'm slowly getting things accomplished.

My book will be titled, "The Silver Dragon" (Hepatitis Awareness Poetry) and, I am including all the poems that I wrote for my fellow dragon fighters plus more. I am honored to have been inspired by so many wonderful people in our group. I'm nervous as heck but also anxious to see it all bound up in a pretty black binder with silver lettering and dragon. Those are the plans, anyway. We'll see how it actually turns out. I have no idea how long it's going to take me to whip this manuscript into shape to be submitted according to their instructions. Whew! This is harder than the actual writing of the poems. I have a lot of respect for the books I see sitting on shelves these days. I will let you know when it is published and you should be able to get it at Amazon.com. I'll be so excited.

I would be glad to clean your house, as soon as I finish mine. Don't hold your breath though.

It is wonderful to hear from you again, . I hope you are feeling good and enjoying life too.

Hugs, VickieG

WOW! Congratulations! I'm an aspiring writer myself. Do you have other works published? Do you have to sign a contract, or do you have a deadline ?? I'm curious about the whole biz.

Hi Gretchen! Good to hear from you and that has been doing a little

better! It must be a 15 year old boy thing, those bass guitars! LOL! PJ is very

big into them and into drums as well.

Pj is doing great! He has never felt better. He still gets a monthly

" something " , no fevers but still minor stomach upset and always that joint pain.

It doesn't slow him down at all though. He is well immersed in his sophmore year

of high school. He is not playing any sports but is in marching band (drum

line) and jazz band. I would not have thought it possible but he made it through

a 2 week long band camp over the summer.

I don't know how long this will last but he and I will relish it as long as it

does. We have lived for so long just waiting for the 'other' shoe to drop, for

now we are thrilled with just the one shoe!

Weren't you considering at one time having the T & A done on ? Did you?

How did it go? I hope you didn't because if you did and he still is having mild

episodes... Let me know and keep me posted!

Pat, That is funny about the guitar. What is even more funny is that

just asked if he could get DRUMS for christmas!

We never did get s tonsil out and I am glad we waited. We were

very hesitant that it MIGHT work and we take surgery serious

especially when you are dealing with a sick kid. Actually his tonsils

don't get as bad as his just his throat and the back of his palate?

It's really weird! But hasn't this been our kids whole life? We will

like always take one day at a time and feel very blessed that we have

a well child.

Take care,

Gretchen

hi i had my gall bladder removed last Wed. and the 2 cysts one was size of a Canadian Toonie and the other size of a quarter. i feel really achey, my back has been spasming since they have me on higher baclofen to relieve the spasms. i have been freezing for the past week and 4 of the spots are healing good the one on the belly button hurts it is bruised and had a blood blister on it but i have been putting anti-biotic cream on it so now it is drying up and healing. i have been eatting nothing with spices but yesterday had some eggs and it upset my stomach. i cannot eat much maybe with this 'diet' i will lose weight! and i notice my MS symptoms have gotten bad again, my old symptoms have come back i am praying it is due to the surgery and not due to a flare up. i started back on all my meds and my vitamins right when i got home so that might help and since the surgery the achy pain i had at my bra line has gone now if i could get rid of the back spasms i would be happy! anyway later k

Hi ,

Don't blame you for not working out w/ that schedule. Eating well is important though, especially for combating stress and fatigue!

Thanks! I'm actually still at home sick. I'm going to petition for a

medical withdrawal for this semester and take a couple of extra weeks off

for the winter break. Hopefully, that will be enough for my respiratory

system to heal. I'm asthmatic so anything that causes problems for the

respiratory system really throws me for a loop. I've been down for 2 1/2

weeks this time and that’s way too much time to miss school and still be

able to pass. At least most of the classes aren't things I'll need for my

degree, at least once I get my degree changed. I'll have a much lighter

load in Spring. Only 12 hours and no outside clinicals or anything extra.

I'll only have to drive down there 3 days a week even, so that will be much

better.

Thanks! I'm actually still at home sick. I'm going to petition for amedical withdrawal for this semester and take a couple of extra weeks offfor the winter break. Hopefully, that will be enough for my respiratorysystem to heal. I'm asthmatic so anything that causes problems for therespiratory system really throws me for a loop. I've been down for 2 1/2weeks this time and that’s way too much time to miss school and still beable to pass. Hi all, I haven't done any exercise yesterday or today. I am so sick. My chest and throat feel like they are on fire and I have a lot of chest congestion. I hope it goes away soon so that I can get back to my daily exercise routine. I am off to work now, have a great day everyone.

Welcome back, ! Sounds like you have been having fun at the gym!Donna

From: F <revaddict@...>Subject: Checking in Date: Saturday, January 23, 2010, 11:40 AM

Hi, ladies,I haven't been in here for a while but I wanted to let everyone know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Ever since November I've been doing my workouts at a local exercise place. The live kickboxing is fun and so are some of the resistance workouts. I signed up for a 3-month membership, but I plan to do my resistance days with DVD's at home just to save a few trips during the week.I also just got back from a trip to Russia with my roommate (who's from there). It's good to be home again.I look forward to catching up with you all and I wish you a health and happy new year!

The gym is okay, but they don't do the kickboxing as intensely as I'm used to.

99% of the clients are women and they don't hit the bags as hard as I do. One

day last week there were so many people in class that we had to share bags. One

of the instructors partnered up with me. She told me she was sore the next day

from kicking the same bag with me. My roundhouse kicks were giving her a lot of

resistance on the other side of the bag. :-)

But, yeah, it's fun to work out in a group setting for a change.
