LIFT THOSE

LEGS!

Sunday, 11 September 2011

Every Monday evening in my

Clubhouse, I host our weekly Chats and Auditoriums. My

Clubhouse members join me for a lively

discussion, always filled with good conversation and

motivation. We have a new theme each week and spend a

whole hour discussing that week's topic. But besides

an hour of healthy conversation, I also have them take

breaks and get up from their computers to do a quick

bit of healthy exercise.

So after Chat begins and we've been talking for about

15 minutes, it's time for our first break. I'll

interrupt the conversation and tell everyone...It's

time to get those legs up! Then, they stand

next to their computers and we do a quick set of leg

lifts together. Everybody knows, I just love those

leg lifts! I love what they do for my legs, my buns

and for my heart.

We all stand up straight and with our arms, we do some

nice bicep curls as we lift those legs, one at a

time. We started out doing 30 leg-lifts, worked our

way up to 50 and now we do 100 of them each

time we get up from our computers. After we complete

our leg-lifts mini-workout, we get right back into our

Chat and motivational conversation. But oh,

wait...it's been 15 minutes. Time to get up again and

do another 100 leg-lifts!

At first, some of my Clubhouse members could only do a

few of them. But now they can keep up with me...The

Leg-Lifts King! And since we've made those

mini-workouts part of our weekly Chats, everyone has

written to tell me how much they love doing their

leg-lifts now. Hey, way to go, gang!

Now let me ask you something. How

many people in America do you think sit at a computer

behind a desk all day at work? 5 million? 10

million? Well, let's just settle on the fact that

it's well into the millions. Oh yes, there

they sit at their desks, for hours on end. And did

you know all of that sedentary sitting is not so good

for their eyes and bodies as they work?

If you're one of the millions who

work at a desk job all day, you need to get up every

couple of hours and get that body of yours...moving!

Even if it's just to take a couple of walks up and

down the stairs or stretching your legs in the lobby,

you need to give your body little breaks from all of

that sitting. If the weather is nice outside, and

your job permits, maybe you can even squeeze in a

10-15 minute walk during your workday.

If you take my advice, after that little break to get

your body moving, when you return to your desk, you'll

have more energy to do your job.

People have written to tell me how

they sit at a computer all day and by the end of their

workdays, they simply have no pep in their steps.

Well, I tell them how to get that pep. Get

up and get those bodies moving with little

mini-workout breaks during the day, that'll do it!

Who knows. You may have some fellow employees or even

a boss who wants to join in for those little energy

breaks. Hey, everybody! Head for the break room

and...

Give me 100 leg-lifts!

Love,
