WITH VIGOR!

Monday, 07 November 2011

You know how much I love a good movie and

there are scenes from some films that I just never

forget. One of my favorites is from a movie that just

about everybody has seen, the original Rocky,

starring Sylvester Stallone.

Mr. Stallone had to train

for many months getting ready to play Rocky.

It was that scene where he's running up the stairs of

the Philadelphia Museum of Art. (I know you remember

it.) Oh, you could see how hard he worked as he ran

up those dozens of stairs. That look in his eyes,

that vapor of white smoke leaving his mouth because it

was so cold...go, Rocky, go! And finally,

when he reached the top of the stairs, he threw

both arms triumphantly into the air with such a sense

of victory. Oh,

how I loved that scene!

Now of course, Mr. Stallone had to train for many

months getting ready to play Rocky.

And, I wonder, how many days last week did you exercise?

Two, maybe? Was it three? Did you exercise at all last

week? Yep, my friends, it's another motivational

message about exercise for you...and for your body!

Look, you eat seven days a week so I say you should

work out seven days a week, too. Hey, it's only fair

for that body of yours. And if you don't make

exercise a regular part of your life, then you're

never going to lose the weight or end up gaining

back any

weight you may have already lost.

Now Mr. Stallone did several kinds of exercise to get

in shape for Rocky.

He did a lot of stretching, plenty of cardio and he

toned three to four days a week. That's the same

formula you need to follow as you prepare to star in

your own movie. And I've got the perfect title for

your feature film, too. It's A Wonderful Healthy

Life!

Exercise is mot just for

losing weight. It's for keeping your body young and

in shape.

By the way, exercise is not just for losing weight, my

friends. It's for keeping your body young and in

shape. Your bones need to be strong and exercise

gives them that strength. And those muscles of

yours? Well, every time you lift weights, use your

toning cords or toning rings, you're pumping energy

into your upper body that'll help you build firmer,

stronger muscles. And don't forget your cardio.

Those dance moves you do during cardio are great for

your heart and blood flow. And let me end with this,

exercise does wonders for that mind of yours. It

helps keep you sharp, focused, feeling happy and good

about yourself.

Now look, today is Monday. I want you to start this

week out right by doing some sort of exercise today

and every

day this

week! Stretch in the mornings and evenings, do your

cardio three days a week, tone three days a week and,

next Sunday, on that 7th day, take that wonderful body

of yours for a nice long walk.

And one day, we'll all meet in Philadelphia, charge up

the stairs at the Museum of Art and throw our arms up

in victory, just like Rocky!

Bomp, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom, bom,

ba...bomp!

Love,
