Guest guest
Another 12 weeks! Wow Cheryl, you are awesome! Congratulations!! I only have 3 weeks of my first challenge left... do you have any suggestions on how to boost my workouts/nutrition??? I was told to keep away from starchy carbs my last 3 weeks, and to only stick to protein and leafy greens... I'm also boosting my workouts to add another 15 min of cardio (intensity 6). Do you have any other suggestions?? Who took your pictures???? Thanks for the tips I know I'll get... Have you been tested in the Bod Pod yet?? Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!! Guest guest
Merced...... Thank You! I leave out the starchy carb from my dinner meal (have from day one) just because my body seems to be sensitive to them. But I do still eat them. I did a light carb depletion/load at the end of this round. But I also cut out most sugars (ie. dairy) and red meat around week 8 this time too. Another thing I did this time was I actually used table salt up until the last few days. With drinking the 8 to 10 glasses of water, I don't seem to hold onto water as I use to. I added extra cardio around week 6, but stopped around week 8 when I had a body comp. done and was actually losing lean mass. I really had to up my calories this round. The metabolism is really on fire now! I haven't been tested in the Bod Pod yet. Where did you get it done? At BYU? Hubby actually took the photos. My friend said, " That's why you look so seductive! " LOL Best of Luck! Cheryl C. > Another 12 weeks! Wow Cheryl, you are awesome! Congratulations!! Guest guest
Cheryl, I must be the only ones to have not seen your photos. They sound wonderful from the compliments you are getting. I had trouble getting to the site to see them and I only got a few lines when I downloaded them. Can you tell me again how I can view them? Thanks. I love to see other peoples results! Guest guest
Well: 6 weeks ago I enlisted in a self-induced Memorial Day challenge to help keep me focused on being healthier until the unofficial start of summer this weekend. I did alright the first few weeks out of the gate, since I was still training for and doing the 12K but then I fell off the wagon and tumbled down a rocky hill the past 3 weeks so I have been clawing my way back up and onto the wagon. Points-wise overall for the challenge, I earned 147.6 (there were 34-35 possible per week based on staying on program [whatever you would consider a program you are following], drinking water, exercising, eating fruits and veggies). Oh yeah, and a point for each pound you lost during the challenge. I won't dwell hard on the 5.4 lb gain I had during this 6 weeks, but considering it could have been way worse with my week's vacation to CA I just got back from, I am ok with this. And, 5 lbs of that is back off so far this morning as the TOM bloat is flushing away. Whew! So, out of 204 possible for *me* with the water, etc (Sunday is a rest day for exercise, so I lost those 6 points off the top), I earned 147.6 pts. Today was my first day out wogging in 3 weeks. I knew we were headed to 80 (plus?) for a high today, so I set my alarm for 6 a.m. (LOL) and was out of bed by 7:45 to hit the streets. I went 3.09 miles in 50 min, so basically about 16 min miles. I felt like my lungs were being ripped from my chest during the first jogging interval, but I quickly picked up my breathing pace again and that was better for the rest of the time. Other than training for and hopefully participating in a half-marathon this fall, I am not sure where I am going running-exercise-wise yet. There are a handful of fun runs around the area during the summer, so I might see if I can scrape together the cash to register for those. The first would be June 20th and choice of 5K (3.1 miles) or 10-miles, then there is the cherry pickers trot in July that I think is 4 miles. Since I have been wailing around not gaining much progress on my own the past 12-18 months (honestly) I have decided to take some hints and enrolled in The Lords Table course at www.settingcaptivesfree.com . Phase 1 is a 60-day Bible study to work through and am on day 3 and then you can do Phase 2 which is a 20-day study. Anyway. I hope you all have had a great weekend and whether or not you get the holiday off today, remember our troops! Hugs, in WA310/258/190 I've lost 71" from my body!!
