Guest guest Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 I haven't been on in a couple of weeks - the family has been taking turns fighting a cold. But I wanted to report that I did a 5K on Thanksgiving. It's called the Hog Jog, and it's a charity walk/run with the YMCA. I never considered participating in something like this before, but the 5K was exactly what I wanted to do to celebrate reaching the halfway point of my weightloss journey. I walked the whole thing, even though I had been building up my running time, because my asthma was bothering me since I had been sick. I came in last place, but I was very proud of myself, and I hope to be able to run most of it, if not all of it, by next Thanksgiving! I started in May at 245 pounds. I am now 194 - a loss of 51 pounds!!! I can't believe I am over halfway to my goal. I can't belive I have lost 51 pounds and I weight less than I have weighed in 14 years! I have to give credit to the gals at my home forum ( http://whyweight.proboards84.com ) who have been such a HUGE part of my success. I keep my weightloss diary on there, and the ladies give me support and keep me going. I love them and couldn't have done it without them! I'd like to invite any ladies here to check out my site if you want extra support. I've only been on this forum about a month, but I figure we can all use all the support we can find when we are making this big a change in our lives. This is a cool place, too, and I like sharing with others who are also working on losing big amounts. Let's do it!!! Quote
