I feel like I'm in AAadmiting I have a problem. Well, I do. I weigh the most I've everweighed in my life, and I'm 26, when I should be energetic, and I feelhorrible. Hi - I "re-started" a year ago in June at 310, so I know exactly where you are at starting out! I just last month hit 31 lbs gone, so am here to tell you as well as the other gals it can be done! One day at a time!! .....So this is a great time for a lifestyle change. Yes, yes, yes! Yay!! You go girl!! I am now following his diet regimen in terms of eating consistently, and not binging. Good job - "they say" that the best thing to do is eat several smaller "meals" during the day. I hide it, like most obese people. I stop at Mcs on my way home from work, and hide the bags from my husband. If someone brings candy in for work, I go back for more when no one is watching. I have actually eaten a full meal on my way home from work, then gone home and made dinner for myhusband and eaten again without telling him. It really does need tostop. You know it. My A #1 "rule" now is no eating in the car. Nothing. If I am going to a fast food joint, it is either to go in and sit down and eat or to take it home and eat at the table. We don't register the food for some reason when it is eaten on the fly or on the sly like this. IMHO get out of the car, come clean with your family (dh) and do not eat a meal on the way home to just go home and eat again. If nothing else, tell him you already had something (not that it would be a happy discussion, I am sure) The second my husband leaves me alone in the house, Istart to go right for the fridge! Have you looked into the "why" behind this? Emotions are the big thing that bring us to food for comfort vs other things... once we can start dealing with the why behind our eating, it gets easier (again, IMHO) So, my goals (as my e-mail shows) is to get into the hundreds, where Ihaven't been since my freshman year of high school. The most successful I've ever been with weightloss was when I wasposting on an AOL 100+ pounds to lose message board, so I thought I'dtry this again. I want to get to my post high school/before children weight too - 170 is my goal, but that could be tweaked along the way. I really believe in my doctor, so am following his advice and that of the nutritionist at his office, so if I get to 190 (wishful thinking) and they are happy, I could stop (LOL!)... I never knew about AOLs 100+ board though, and have been on ao-hell for years.... oh well, I love this group. I'm loggin my food on fitday.com, and signing back up for the BreastCancer 3-day walk (I lost about 30 pounds this past year(which I've ofcourse put right back on) from doing this, and this year I want tofinish it without dying!), and making sure I eat three meals a daywith 2 light snacks, and NOTHING else! Good for you. I have never done the BC walk - the big thing I did was a 10 k walk this spring with my 14 yr old ds - I thought I was gonna die!! I sure wanted to and there was a lot of bargaining going on with myself to stop!! Anyway, it sounds like you have reasonable goals - I look forward to following your progress. Guest guest
Welcome, I have a bit of the hiding and eating problem too! I try so hard not to but sometimes I slip up and do it anyway. We can support each other! Take care of you. Blessed be,
Guest guest
What a great idea!! I had a friend that was doing the 3-day last year, and I really thought about it, but it was the same weekend as my husband's family reunion. (In retrospect, I should have gone, since his family and I pretty much hate eachother...) That is a great idea, though. If people are pledging for you, there is NO WAY you're going to feel ok backing out of it! What a great motivator!! What area are you in? Maybe some of us are close enough to walk with you?? As for the bio, first of all, welcome to the group, and second of all... " yeah, me too... " LOL. I'm 25, but with the speed and agility of my grandmother. I love my kids, but I can't keep up with them. I want their childhood memories to be that I was healthy and an active part of their lives- not watching it go by from the couch. My goal is mid- hundreds (140-160 range), but my shorter-term goal is to be able to fit into " NON-PLUS " clothing. I wonder what it's like to go to a regular store and buy off a regular rack? I WILL find out soon...

I live in the Detroit area. It was a great motivator. You really have to get out there and walk most days of the week, and you have to raise $2200 to walk...so people really get on your case about it. My problem was that once the walk was over...so was my training, and I'm back up to the weight I started from. > > As for the bio, first of all, welcome to the group, and second of > all... I feel like I don't want to have kids until I can get this weight off.... On the agility, I love sports and among my friends called myself the " flexible fatty " . But the last 30 pounds have really hit me. My knees hurt, which even in the 250s, never happened.
Guest guest
I am famous as a closet eater. Hubby has no idea of much junk I eat in secret. I even convince myself it is not so bad. LOL I am trying to get it under control. NHMom to AbnEm...
