Guest guest Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Sheri, It is okay to forward some of the homeopathy for illnesses (like chicken pox, etc.) that you have compiled? People often ask for help on my attachment parenting lists when their kids are sick and I'd like to be able to send them these since they are so comprehensive. L. Quote

Guest guest Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Yes, Anita. Sheri N. writes on many of her articles, " share with as many people as you can " type of thing. Or if it is from a private source, she will ask that it not be shared. When in doubt, ask. It makes many of us reluctant to share here if we have to be afraid that someone will post our comments elsewhere. And it's just not good " netiquette " either. Guest guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 I regret to say that I've recently made a mistake in that respect which 's message (below) is about. After I was notified about it I've tried to correct it as well as possible, and I promise everybody not to do the same thing again. What I did was the following: A comment by one member on 31.03 on a certain matter concerning the present " bird flu " hoax propaganda in the media - a posting containing no mention of matters private to that member, thus at least with no sensitive content - I thought was good and, without asking permission, put on my (public) homepage on 01.04, while expressing agreement with the comment, and I included that member's e-mail address too. My mistake in this was that I failed to take into account the fact that this is a closed mailing list. I'm subscribing to, and am often posting to, several other mailing lists, all of which are open, public lists, so that there's no problem with forwarding postings made to them without asking permission from the writer in question. My habit of doing so I wrongly extended to this list. Yesterday, on 02.04, I got an off-list mail from the member in question, saying above all that she would have appreciated it greatly if I had asked her permission to use her commentary before putting it on my website, and also had made sure that I had removed her e-mail address from the webpage, and further that, while she gave me permission to use her comments on my site, she would be grateful if I removed all traces of her e-mail address at my page. This I did immediately, on 02.04, and replied to that member that I realized my mistake and was sorry about it and hoped that the unpleasentness caused to her by it would not become a large one. The relevant part of that item at my homepage with which I failed to observe good " netiquette " was/is the item " NWBC 141 " in the " News with brief comments " section of my homepage. It's at: http://rolf-martens.com/news_with_brief_comments.html This item now begins, after I have replaced my reproducing the member's e-mail address in one of the lines here with " a member " , Saturday, 01 April 2006 (NWBC 141) Suitable for 1 April: A new twist in the " bird flu " hoax propaganda 2006-04-01, 11:17 GMT: To the Vaccinations mailing list (which I joined a few weeks ago), a member wrote, Fri, 31 Mar 2006 21:30:05 +0800, subject " Horse Antibodies Against The Bird Flu Virus H5N1 Are Effective As Treatment In Mice " : " Right, everyone off to the stables....!! I am sooooo reassured by the fact that antibodies produced by HORSES protect MICE against BIRD flu. What is this stupid world coming to....? " I'm replying now, at the Vaccinations list, [END OF QUOTE] ... this is then followed by comments of mine, and later by the rest of the list member's posting. I hope that you others on this list will find that I've corrected my mistake as well as I could. I certainly want to avoid putting anyone into an awkward position. If anybody finds that I should make further changes in this item at my homepage, in order to avoid this, please write either on-list or else off-list to me at <rolf.martens@...>. Rolf M. Guest guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 in regards to so many members and so few posters. I am here to learn as much as possible, so that I am informed when I meet with our family doctor, and can counter any thing he has to argue about us not vaccinating. I do not post, as I am not as informed as many others on this list are. I read, I print out relevant information as back up to give to our doctor. I remove contact information from these print outs to protect the posters and the list. I personally enjoy the 'personal' side of this list group. If we can't back up what is posted with 'life lessons' how are we to learn further? ~Sally (going back to lurkdom, will get off me soapbox now Quote
Guest guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Sally, Many people do that. The point that I am making is that with so many members and so few posters is that you don't know exactly who is " out there " . A few years ago, a dirty scroundel stole pictures of my friend's kids (she posted pictures of them with chicken pox) and posted them to his pro vaccination site and accused her of child abuse. So many people think that what they post in cyberspace is safe, when it is anything but. It isn't illegal for people to post what they find in this group to wherever they want or to forward it to whoever they want. The lawyer that was helping my friend said that when you post something online to one of these groups, that there is no expectation of privacy. -- Sara Proud Mama to Colin 12/07/99 Jack 8/07/02 -------------- Original message -------------- From: " Sally S. Guest guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 And Sara raises a good point: there are people from " the other side " lurking on here, most likely, so we have to keep that in mind. I wasn't trying to say that we shouldn't be personal with each other, just a warning to not post anything that you don't want thousands of people to read. The ratbag incident was just plain nasty. The more people who emailed him regarding the pictures, the nastier he got. Some of our friends were sending him emails asking him to take the pictures down and he just laughed and posted the emails to his website. She consulted a lawyer at my stepdads firm because she wanted the pictures to be taken down and he said that there really wasn't anything that could be done because he blacked out the kids' eyes and because she had posted them to a " public forum " . Guest guest Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 I had everyone's complete attention as I spoke to 75(suppose to be only 60) students at our local college about Autism and natural remedies and vaccine ingredients and such. Some of them were crying. All of them wanted my contact info. They asked about a benefit for Kali. Not til next month. I will be using the $ for treatment for Kali and other underpriveldged children in this area for diet, info., books, etc. I can't wait. K will be able to go through HP care and she is getting better every step of the way. Thanks for wishing me good luck. I really appreciate the support!
