Guest guest
You may want to try piracetam. Its a neuroprotective/nootropic.. It seems to help me in many situations in which I feel bad. Your mileage may vary, though. Everybody is different. Piracetam and its relatives work on the GABA-nergic system.. They improve memory and neural functioning, and are often used to normalize brain processes. They can rotect against a wide range of toxins. Even gamma radiation, like NAC does! When I was getting a lot of mold exposure, I would always find it very hard to sleep and piracetam always calmed my mind down and gave me a few hours of relief from the mold headaches. (Usually around six hours of relief, which is its duration of action.) You may also want to try cholestyramine (sucks low-molecular-weight biotoxins out of your bile where they accumulate) Taurine increases bile flow.. I know that. Its also calming, so is magnesium.. Guest guest
, Have you thought about asking this 'doctor' for your money back, or going to the Better Business Bureau to make a complaint about his/her taking your money but not treating you? " CFS is not an illness " is wrong, and its against current medical wisdom. Even the CDC (!!!) has now acknowledged that CFS is a disease, so your 'doctor' was way out in left field for saying CFS is a psychological condition and you would be within your rights, i think to demand a refund because he did not give you what you were paying him for. If more people did this, then we wouldn;t have this problem with so called 'doctors'. Thats the whole idea of the medical marketplace. They ask us to pay, but for what, being insulted? Seriously. Guest guest
You need a new doctor. The one you have is worthless. Guest guest
I would investigate Lyme disease/co infections with those symptoms. Guest guest
Thanks for your answers. She is really one of the worst doctors I know but unfortunately we don't have any CFS specialists here in Germany. It's really hard to discuss things over and over again without moving forward at all. That's why I want to try it the non- prescription-way with supplements and herbs. I did not have to pay anything because I have a non private health insurance which would be ranged between a normal insurance and Medicare in the US. I bought some valerian root today and will add some magnesium + histamine blockers later. I'll tell you if it works. Guest guest
Hi , Here are some things (all nonprescription) that Amy Yasko recommends for GABA-gluatmate balancing (which seems to be more or less the same as Cheney's GABA-NMDA): Pycnogenol Grape seed extract GABA Branched Chain Amino Acids (ONLY leu/ileu/val) (discontinue immediately if urines smell like " maple syrup " ) Sublingual cyanocobalamine (B12) Sublingual hydroxycobalamine (B12) Nerve Calm RNA Trina manuel_hbr <einfachzumerken@...> wrote: I read the Dr. Cheney paper about benefits of Klonopin and since I have light and noise sensitivity it was very interesting. " Cfs is no illness...you are depressive...blabla " She did not take a look into the two pages of the Centers for Disease which I brought her. I showed her the papers of Dr. Cheney but she did not want to read the abstarcts about GABA and NMDA. I explained it to her and she said " Well Mr. Huber we practise medicine, I don't know who this Dr. Cheney is but I certainly don't believe in such nonsense. " She got very emtional then and started stuttering ^^ until we both calmed done some minutes later. Dr. Cheney lists Magnesium/Taurine and Histamine Blockers as NMDA blockers and Klonopin, Neurontin, valerian root as GABA agonists. I used to take some magnesium tablets but I did not feel any change. Since I cannot get prescriptions for the other meds I'd really love to know what I could to in order to improve my light/noise sensitivity. What kind of valerian root does Dr. Cheney recommend? Is there anything else I can to in order to increase GABA or reduce NMDA? I'm looking forward to reading your answers.
