Guest guest Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Edy, Could you tell me more about your particular history (do you have cardiac problems? How sick are you? Do you have severe post-exertional symptoms?) and how the HBOT helps you? I'm still really trying to determine if I should move forward with this thing. The idea of getting more oxygen sounds so wonderful. Now I'm more concerned with the potential decompression sickness from having a PFO (you can do a search for the known risks of this) than the oxygen issues. How long have you been using HBOT and what has your experience been? Any info. appreciated. Peggy ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. Guest guest Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Hi Peggy, I am probably about as sick as it gets for 30 years now. I got felled in 1977 in the spring and never got up again. I was fine, working in the garden and suddenly got tachacardia. I had never heard of it being healthy, strong and only 25 years old. Rushed to the hospital, sent home and never got up again. Oh, there's been years here and there when I have maybe 50% energy of a healthy person, but mostly it's at around 20% and there have been whole years on end where I couldn't get out of bed. I was finally *diagnosed* with lyme 2 years ago and tried to treat with antibiotics. Now I'm so allergic to everything I can't even take most supplements. Then I tried to treat it with HBOT. When I didn't get better after 9 months of use I started expoloring why. I think the lyme has done so much damage that I have a ton of other issues now that have to be addressed.About HBOT tho. I always felt better from the oxygenation and if I didn't have a severe ear infection would still be in it everyday. I do have cardiac issues and from them it's the only time I've spent time in the hospital. My heart is supposedly in good shape, but I have PVCs that can last from a few days to a few weeks that leave me wasted. Sometimes I get many hundred a day and then I'll go down to ten or twenty. Do you have a PFO? Maybe it is contraindicated, however the chamber I use is only 1.5 ATA and I don't know if that's something Dr. C has looked into. I was a patient of Dr. Goldstein and was never helped at all tho I admire him greatly. Hope this wasn't too long. If you like you can BC me.
