Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Oh yes. But I burn on my face, feet, hands and arms, sometimes every inch of my body. I say it feels like having someone scrape a sunburn with sandpaper. And it's happening more and more. Especially the palms of my hands. I have no idea what is going on. Weirdly enough the only thing that seems to help is a glass of red wine with dinner. I guess it numbs the sensation. However I want to mention that when I was going through menapause my feet would be so hot they felt like they were burning and come to find out this is quite common. Are you there yet? I had to sleep with my feet out of the blankets. I would love an answer to this one as it's uncomfortable as haides. Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 HI Edy, I went thru menopause in 2002 but I am still on hormones foe the hot flashes. I will you one thing, this feet burning business only happens to me when I crash. Got to be related to that, I think. Hurts like heck!!!! My first guess, toxins??? Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Hi Janet, Well, could be. I know that if you rub garlic on the soles of your feet within a half hour you'll have it on your breath. True fact. Have you thought about the detox foot pads that , the betterhealthguy has talked about. I actually got some, but since I don't know if this is an allergic reaction to something or not I'm reluctant to put even herbs on my skin. Maybe Rich or Kurt have some input on this one. I'm on hormones, too, and it stopped the foot burning quickly. I use an estrogen patch .05 and progesterone cream. Bioidentical. They seem to work well. It really does hurt doesn't it?! Been there, done that. Good Luck, Edy Janet s <jgstev716@...> wrote: HI Edy, I went thru menopause in 2002 but I am still on hormones foe the hot flashes. Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I myself think it must be neuropathy. I say that because the burning stopped entirely shortly after I began b12 shots. My feet had burned for years before. Adrienne Crashing-Does Anyone Have this Symptom??? HI All//Rich, I am finding that when I crash and until I am over it, my feet hurt and BURN!!!! Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Hi all, Really we all have such absurd symptoms that it could be just about anything. I myself have been taking B12 shots for years and it didn't coincide with the burning, but anything, and I mean anything! is possible. What a puzzle we have to deal with. Best to y'all. Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Hi, Adrienne, Janet and the group. I think that's very interesting. It's a fact that a methylation deficit will cause neurological problems, and the B12 is needed to form methylcobalamin to keep the methylation cycle operating properly. When people become deficient in B12, the neurological problems happen earlier than the red blood cell problems (megaloblastic anemia, or low red blood cell count with larger than normal red blood cells), which the doctors usually use as a sign of B12 or folate deficiency, so people can be suffering from this and not have it detected in a routine blood test. I think this might tie in with Janet's experience, also. As you may recall, I believe that crashes occur when a PWC, who is running right on the ragged edge of having just enough glutathione to function, experiences something that lowers it further. As you may also recall, I believe that the glutathione depletion in many PWCs is tied to a block in the methylation cycle by a vicious circle mechanism. Therefore, I think it's plausible that during a crash, the methylation capacity might go down as well as the glutathione level going down, and I think that could give rise to neurological symptoms. This is an unproven hypothesis, but I think it might fit the observations as well as the known biochemistry and physiology well. Rich > > I myself think it must be neuropathy. Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Thanks for the input Rich. I kind of wanted to ask; I have been using hydroxycobalamine all along except for when there was a brief shortage and I used one bottle of the methyl. The hydroxyl seemed, maybe, to work a smidgen better, and was cheaper, so I stuck w. it. I am about to get the glutathione RBC test. If it is indeed low, do you recommend switching the b12? Thanks, Adrienne Crashing-Does Anyone Have this Symptom??? > > > HI All//Rich, > > I am finding that when I crash and until I am over it, my feet hurt > and BURN!!!! > > Is anyone else experiencing this??? > > Any ideas of why??? > > Thank you all for your help, > > Janet > in San Diego > > > > > > > This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. Guest guest Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 HI Rich, Thank you for that info. Now that I am finally over the yeast infection (and I think this happen from the diarehia I had for a month trying the Whey Protien Isolate, you know just upended my gut) I will start back on the glutathione and raise my B-12. Burning, hurting feet I can do without. Thank you, Janet in San Diego rvankonynen <richvank@...> wrote: Hi, Adrienne, Janet and the group. I think that's very interesting. Guest guest Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Yes, I have always experienced this. I think the B vits help. Is crashing the same as post-exertional malaise? It seems to me, that that comes from our bodies reacting with or attacking something coming out of our bone marrow, namely after exertion. I read some article on stem cells, and how a man's marrow was implanted into a woman's bones, and when she eventually died and they did an autopsy, she had brain cells with xy chromosomes, I can't remember the signifigance of this, I guess that marrow contained pluripotent stem cells, but it spurred some thought. This also would explain the joint ache, as the hip(femur) and shoulder(humerous) would be the biggest producers of stem cells(or whatever) that would be released after exertion to stimulate healing, or new growth, whatever, and if our bodies attacked itself, then this would be the hot point of the attack. Maybe? The no swelling or redness might negate this, but just a thought. Quote
Guest guest Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Janet et al, I too have had the burning sole-of-feet thing especially when I relapsed very badly with my temperature problems. I still get it in bed at night and often associated with restless legs (which is a fairly recent and irritating symptom). I wasn't aware they were also associated with menopause. I'm still not properly there but I think there are a lot of pointers to say that I am firmly in the peri-menopause bit of life right now so this burning feet thing could be linked. I too find wine helps - not with this particular sensation but with my temperature problems. My theory is that alcohol depresses the cns and so it's not over-firing? Guest guest Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Adrienne, Maybe. I honestly don't know. I used to inject 1cc daily for a few years. Did nothing. Now I inject (methylcobalamin) twice a week, 1cc, and daily use sublingual tabs of methylcobalamin 1 milligram, plus 10 milligrams Folic acid sublingual. In testing found my levels low and pathways blocked or not there. Got any suggestions? I actually have lyme, but for many, many years have cascaded into all the CFS stuff. Hard to tell which is going on. Thanks for input, Edy " Adrienne G. " <duckblossm@...> wrote: Are you sure you are taking big enough doses of b12? Adrienne Crashing-Does Anyone Have this Symptom??? Guest guest Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 HI Rosie, Try upping your folic acid to 5 grams a day. Use various forms. That should help with the restless legs. Use B-12. (Thats what Rich just indicated to me for the burning with the folic acid.)
