Guest guest
Just got back from the Arnold. (I'll post about that later, need sleep.) I visited the Jan Tana booth and I'm hooked. You won't believe the color. I know you can buy it on the web. Show price was $38. Pro Tan was there also, but I didn't get a chance to check it out. We're going back on Sunday, so I'll look then. I've tried Sun and really like it. No streaks and it looks real, not orange. Have fun in the hills! Glenda tanning Has anyone tried any of the tanning lotions that are available? What's the best brand, etc.? Do they work well? Also, I'm off to the Central Idaho mountains to do some snow shoeing this weekend and am looking forward to my cardio day tomorrow. I can't wait to trek up and down some of the hills and through the forests of God's country!
Guest guest
-- There is this company name called Jan Tana. My husband used in when he completed the first challenge. They make some stuff called show- tan. Body builders use it at competitions. You spread it all over your body. Take a shower a couple hours later, and you are tan. It is really good stuff. No streaks no yellow or orange looking. I love the stuff. I dont use my tanning bed often. Just a couple times a week. for a few weeks in the beginning of summer. Guest guest
Well, beside the cancer thing, the long-term effects of tanning are looking like shoe leather when you get older. Wrinkles, splotches, sags, loss of skin elasticity. I loved that even, brown tanning bed look... at the time. Now, 15-20 years and a dozen skin cancer biopsies later, I've decided that I was a complete moron. I still like to be dark for photos, but sunless tanner is the way to go. I wrote an article about how to apply it: http://skwigg.tripod.com/wow/id19.html . There's also a ton of great info, product reviews, and application advice at www.sunnless.com . People tan for the challenges to show muscle definition. If you're pale white and a flash bulb hits you, none of your hard work shows up on film. That's why the winners tend to be pretty dark. Tanning Okay, so what are the long term effects, besides the obvious? I don't particularly like tanning because I'm terrified of cancer. Besides that, it gives me too many big freckles. Does anyone know of anyone who won in any of these challenges who DIDN'T tan???
Guest guest
I think you can get some great color in a single tan. I have a friend who swears by Mystic Tan. She has vitaligo (sp?) and can't go in the sun at all. Now she can actually have a real live tan. She says in one session she gets a lot of color. Colleen > Two or three hours? What do you guys think? I've only tried one self tanning lotion and that was the Target brand. I was pleased with it but I didn't have anything to compare it to and I mostly just used it on my face. I don't think I could do the spray on thing. I'm to self conscious to stand naked in front of a stranger and let them spray my whole body. Guest guest
from what i have read about the spray booth, you go in in a bathing suit and noone is in the room. it is like a fine shower mist that comes out and sprays. noone actually does the spraying. we have 1 place down here that does it. i might give it a go. shonda http://www.fitpenguin.zoomshare.com > In a message dated 4/5/2004 6:56:39 PM Eastern Standard Time, > writes: > Also, I've heard that the spray-on lotions at > the tanning salons don't make you turn orange or stripey the way the > drugstore stuff does. Guest guest
Ok, so I know ya'll prolly dont wanna hear it but tanning for me is therapeutic...i know all the risks and have tanned for years. This all hit me when I hadnt been tanning in a while...i was using self tanner, which prolly is full of the nano crap. So, that might be what clogged me up..lol. Anyways, I am now tanning at a salon at least 3 times a week. I have started putting the ESP balm(with some of bobby's bath oil mixed in the jar) on my skin right before i lay in the bed...OMG... it feels sooooo good! And I dont smell like that stinky tanning lotion we pay so much for...And they clean the beds with some real strong disinfectant so I am not worried about them getting on anyone else. I am real careful just in case... Okay, just wanted to mention it cause it's like the sauna thing people are getting results from. I like to sweat...and I feel so much better. chasity oh yeah, before i go I take my evening dose of vitamin E and D3's.
