's Daily Message SaturdayJune 25, 2005THE OTHER KIND OF TIRED

I know you know the feeling, and you may be going through it right now. With your job, your family, and other responsibilities, you are finding life all too exhausting. When you finally get home, you are tired mentally and physically. All you want to do is turn off your mind and have it just melt into the pillow.

Oh, and your body! Your shoulders hurt from the stress of it all. Your lower back aches from sitting so much and not practicing the correct posture. Your eyes are weary from staring at the screen and driving on the freeway. Your feet hurt and the bottoms of them tingle, and when your body hits the bed, you can hear your bones softly say, "Ahhh…" You work hard to tire yourself out, but it is a good tired, and after a nice night`s sleep, you wake up, and your whole being feels fresh and restored!

Then there is the other kind of tired – sitting around all day long doing nothing, feeling sorry for yourself, being bored, and worrying about everything. You know when you`re depressed about your life, you really don`t feel like doing anything. You stay up late at night watching the movie, eating, and fooling around on the computer. You get up late, fix yourself something to eat, and spend time staring out of the window into the sky. You unplug your phone and listen to music that will make you feel even more depressed. Then you take a nap and lay around the rest of the afternoon till it`s time to get dinner together. At the dinner table, you look through the TV Guide to see what`s on HBO, Showtime, and the other hundred cable channels that show movies.

Every night when you exist like this, everything about you gets tired! Your mind is on autopilot and is not being used to its full potential. Your body is even more tired because you are feeding it plastic foods and have been hardly moving. This is not a good tired. It is a destructive one! You cut your lifespan short because your mind and body start to age.

I need you to get busy with your life and stop being lazy! Get your mind busy with dreams and plans. Get up and move around more! Challenge yourself and try to do a little more with each day you are given. Just tire yourself out, only in the nicest way!

Love,
