I'm with you Kay, I never give money to cancer/sids research ever -

who are they kidding!!! People look at me as if I'm the

tightest/meanest person in the world, oh if only they knew the

truth...sometimes I feel so disallusioned...Deb

Deb, I know what you mean. My dd often asks to donate to the different

charities when we're out, especially if we get stopped in the street and

those kind-hearted souls who do the collecting behave like I'm the world's

worst citizen for not contributing!! So many of these charitable donations

are complete rip-offs, both in terms of the way the money is used and what

it's used for. I'd like it if the cancer research charities used donations

to investigate alternative methods of treating/preventing cancer, and in

education about healthy lifestyles. But it just gets ploughed into more

drug research - if the money makes it that far!!!

Health related issues and research into them should be funded either by the

state or the pharmas or both. Except they both have too much to lose - the

first, control, the second, power and money.
