School Sports Physicals and Vaxing

Me thinks they picked on the wrong Mom this time Ellen!!

I have just looked up the NJ codes, and it does not state anywhere

once there is a religious exemption you cannot participate in sports.

Go get em Ellen!

Could those " idiot " doctors put in writing that the reason your daughter can't

participate is becuase she doesn't have the tetanus shot................ if they

would do that, then you could perhaps take if further........ but I'd try to get

it down in writing that that is the only reason.

I had to share this unbelievable story with all of you......I took my 12 yr

old daughter for her yearly sports physical yesterday and expected her to be

examined and cleared for cross country as she was last year when she started

middle school. The doctor last year respected my rights to not vaccinate, told

me that a number of his patients in another office which is located in a

neighborhood of primarily orthodox and Hasidic Jews, whom for religious reasons

opt out of vaccination, and he saw no reason why I couldn't do so myself under

the doctrine of the Catholic faith. (HE himself does not vax his kids either

)They did her height, weight, BP, etc then in walks a doctor I have never seen

before. He starts asking her questions totally un-related to her health (her

grades in school, what types of activities she likes etc) probably in an attempt

to gain a repoire with her. He asks what the purpose of the visit was for and I

told him she needed a physical to participate in school sports. So he looks at

her vaccination record. (we previously vaxed her before I became informed about

the dangers) He then goes on to inform me that he cannot clear her for sports

without a tetanus shot because if she falls and gets a laceration, etc, she will

be at risk for tetanus. I told him that we had a religious exemption to

vaccination and that we were opting out of vaccinating her and that I expected

hi to clear her for participation in cross country without her needing the shot.

He again stated he needed to follow the AAP guidelines and that he could do the

physical but not clear her for sports because of the tetanus risk. I told him

mainly to appease him that I would have her come to the office for the tetanus

shot if she falls and gets cut at a track meet and he tells me that getting the

shot at the time of the injury isn't as effective as having it now and allowing

the body to build up immunity....so I asked him why ER's push the tetanus vax

when you get injured if it isn't effective at the time of injury.....he

back-pedals and states that he didn't say it was ineffective....I asked him how

I myself could have sustained a facial injury requiring 125+ stitches in my face

to a wound that cut through to my jawbone, I opted out of the tetanus shot in

the ER, and I didn't contract tetanus. His reply " I lucked out " and I should

have gotten tetanus. I'm thinking " ...is this guy for real??? " So I asked him

to contact the doctor that saw Kim last year to talk with him about my rights to

opt out of the tetanus for her and to allow her to be cleared for sports. He

agrees but tells me that the doctor she saw last year wasn't available but the

doctor at the office in the primarily Jewish community was available and he

would call him. (I am thinking that I should be OK since he is an orthodox Jew,

very strict in his faith, and he more than likely does not vaccinate his own

kids) He leaves the room and a few minutes later, a nurse walks in. She says

that the office in the past has given parents a form that they allow them to

sign to opt out of the tetanus vax and she didn't understand why the doctor

wasn't doing this with my daughter....then she asks what my particular concerns

about the tetanus vax were. I told her I don't vaccinate at all....she starts

going into how they wont be allowed in school, I told her that they were all in

public school with religious exemptions...she told I was putting their lives an

the lives of the other kids at risk by not having them vaccinated......so I said

if all the other kids were vaccinated why should any other child be at risk if

my kids aren't?...she says say your kids get pertussis, they can pass it on to

other kids in their school...I said so you're saying the pertussis vax is

ineffective...she says no...I said so if the other kids are vaccinated they

should be protected under the principle of " herd immunity " .....she said you

would be introducing a live active case of pertussis into the school

community.....so I said so what you're saying is that the vax is ineffective

against live pertussis?...she said well with anything there's only a certain

level of protection...so I said if I shoot my kids up with the toxins that the

doctors push on unsuspecting parents that trust them no one can guarantee that

it will protect my kids if they were exposed to an active case of the disease

that the vax was made to protect them against.......????.....And how was it

possible that I had a case of active pertussis a few winters back and I survived

it and my immune system is a whole lot worse off than my children's....I wasn't

done though......I asked her about my son , dxed with autism, ADHD, and

heavy metal toxicity.....how he could have such high metals in his body and how

he has gut pathology positive for the measles virus.....I said its from the MMR

as is his autism and ADHD.....she simply looked at me, said I had no idea of

what I was doing to my kids, and walked out......at this point I am

fuming........A few minutes later, the office manager walks in......she tells me

they spoke to the doctor at the other office and he confirmed what the doctor

whom saw Kim had said.....that they couldn't clear her without the tetanus

shot......So I asked her how she and the doctors could sleep at night...she

asked me what I meant....I said...you're pushing a vaccine that could harm my

daughter and trying to force my into vaccinating my child by threatening to not

allow her to participate in sports at school........what about my religious

beliefs?..........do they mean anything?....she said of course they do but that

the doctors were worried about their level of liability if she contracted

tetanus from an injury.....I told her Id sign a waiver...she said the doctor

said no.......I told my daughter to get dressed and then stated to the office

manager that the Jewish doctors that do not vaccinate their kids in the practice

were all hypocrites and I specifically stated the other doctor that they said

they contacted's name............I also informed them that they just lost 5

patients because of this weasel doctor that probably wouldn't even be there in a

year.....

I would also file a written complaint to the school board, and to

the State Medical Association, along with a copy to the Editor of

your local paper.

Hi Ellen, thankyou for sharing this story. Many people would have caved in

under the circumstances. I admire your strength, and hope that it helps more of

us find the same if we ever get put in such a situation. The fact that you have

a vaccine injured child alone should be enough to satisfy these doctors you have

a right not to vax. All it tells me is that doctors really don't try and

educate themselves about the dangers of vaccines. They must be all scared of

the truth.
