Hi all,

It has been a busy day and I am now even further behind in my email,

but my computer is acting better. I am hoping with the girls back in

school tomorrow and hubby at work I can get caught up.

I got to sleep in a little today because the girls had a dental

appointment that we had to leave the house for at 10:30 didn't get

home until after 1pm and by the time they had lunch it didn't make

sense to send them to school.

Hubby got home about 4:30 let the dogs out and the germanshepheard

(10yrs old) went out and laid down in the snow, didn't want to get up

an come in the house I finally convinced her to get up but she did

not look good when she came in. Decided to call the vet and get an

emergency appointment since she has not been eating well the past 3-4

days and her stomach was a little distended and today after getting

her in it was much worse. Well, her abdomin was full of blood, so

much that they couldn't even see anything on the x-ray but blood,

they figure she must of had a tumor on her spleen that started a slow

leak that got worse today and the best choice was to have her put

down. So I came home with one less dog and lots of unanswered

questions for my 3 girls. They have dealt with death before so that

was not a new topic, but normally we can give them an answer as to

exactly what happened and why, this was more of a mystery.

My food has been ok today so far so good and only a couple of hours

left in the day, but I may break open a bottle of wine that I have in

the fridge though I don't need the extra calories. I have been

thinking about it being in there for the past week or so but keep

convincing myself they are empty wasted calories and I don't need to

drink any of it. I tend to avoid as many " liquid " calroies as

possible, I would much rather eat them then drink them.

Well, I hope everyone had a much better day.

a,

I am sorry for the loss of your pet. Losing a dog is losing a best

friend. How very sad.

So sorry about your dog. Luckily he didn't suffer for too long.

So get rid of it! If it's unopened, give it to a neighbor, or even your vet who gave you the emergency appointment. If it's not there you can't think about it, right?

Here's hoping today is a better day!

That's awful. So sudden. We were all prepared when our dog died at 15.5

years old. The day before Lynn had a party for her with invitations,

favors, etc. Of course the poor dog could just lie there but at least she

got lots of attention at the end.
