Well, ladies ... managed to lose 2 pounds this week (not quite sure how ... still finding it painful to move around, so exercise has been avoided like the plague)

Last night was our TOPS Christmas dinner ... and I behaved (mostly). Asked for double vegetables instead of pasta, potatoes or rice. Stuck to water for a beverage, and asked for the leaner cut of beef. Also ended up having a garden salad, with a raspberry vinaigrette. I did split a dessert with another member (double chocolate cheesecake), but I had a very small piece of it. Was going to skip dessert all together and have an herbal tea instead, but they only had lemon and chamomile ... I am not big on those (prefer berry or peppermint).

We have four members who, over the course of the year, have each lost enough weight to real their goals. And two of these ladies were my size at the beginning of the year. Two lost around 40 pounds to reach goal, one lost 60, and one 75. Another member has lost almost 150 pounds since June of last year, and she reached her goal as well.

I really want to reach my goal by next Christmas. I know that I need to make some major changes to my lifestyle, and I'm ready to do that. I just don't think my hubby is ready, though. I've told him that during the first few months, we can't be going out to eat more than once a month. (Keep in mind, my hubby is the fast food king, but doesn't yet have the waistline to show it) I'm just waiting for it to catch up to him. He also doesn't want to give up highly processed foods, but I don't want to be preparing one meal for he and the kids and a completely different one for me.

He has accepted a couple of changes so far, and I'm really glad. He doesn't mind steamed veggies with dinner (he adds butter to them, I add a spritz of lemon). And he has mostly accepted that snacks in the evening are changing from chips and pop to air-popped popcorn and an herbal tea (or flavoured coffee for him).

Well, I should get going ... I need to find my desk under this mess, and get some other housework done (folding laundry, which I can do sitting down while the kiddies play).

P.S. Is anyone doing what I'm doing, and NOT making resolutions for January 1st? I'm planning on implementing the bigger changes January 2nd.
