Guest guest
I'm probably writing something that you already know, but this thought occurred to me today and I thought I'd share. I got mad at myself for eating something that wasn't 'diet' food. I believe that we all have internal negative voices, no matter how positive we think we are. And if we let that voice be the loudest voice we hear that day we may actually sabotage our efforts to lose weight. For example, I was eating normally but I was having something that wasn't 'diet' per say, but my inner voice immediately said, "This is why you'll never lose weight" ... I almost fell for it which would have set me into the fridge to see what I could muster up because after all "I was going to fail anyhow." ... but fortunately I stopped dead in my tracks and ignored that voice. I counteracted by saying, "you can do this, it's just food." Peace be with you! Guest guest
You are singing my song. My inner voice tells me things all the time and unfortunately it always is something that make me eat. Unfortunately it is always the voice I want to respond to. Thanks for the inspiration. We can't always change our circumstances but we can always learn to change that inner voice. Peace pat
Guest guest
I tell others that I am a diabetic & I have to be careful what I eat in order to maintain my health. My doctor also told me to tell others that I am undergoing medical treatment for a medical condition and have to be very careful what I eat. The main person in my life who was always the most difficult one and would sabotage me was my mother-in-law. Until she developed diabetes -- insulin dependent. She really struggles to keep her blood sugars under control. And now she has to be careful what she eats. <walking2health@...> wrote: Hi Everyone,I have a girl who lives down the hall from Mike and I. Guest guest
But what about 's feelings? Part of this healthier lifestyle is also learning how to stand up for yourself. Sometimes that means putting your needs before someone elses. Which is more important? Your health & well-being? Or her feelings? Mindy S <missmindy6@...> wrote: I think that's a good plan - if you think her feelings would be hurt by telling her that you're on a weight-loss plan then just accept it and toss it. Guest guest
You make a good point Dacia - we really DO need to stand up for our new lifestyle. And I think that if it's done in the right way 99% of the people will understand, and the other 1% can bite me! *lol* MindyDacia <DEReinke@...> wrote: But what about 's feelings? Guest guest
If you are not comfortable telling her that you are trying to lose weight you could always just tell her that you and Mike can't have sugar. Hopefully she's be sensitive to you request. Cheryl <walking2health@...> wrote: Hi Everyone,I have a girl who lives down the hall from Mike and I.
