Message of the Day DON`T LET IT SLIDE!

Do you let people say things to you and let them slide by? Well, I don`t

like that one bit, and neither

should you! They say that sticks and stones will break your bones, but words

will never hurt you. Well, that`s not true in my book! Negative words can

deliver a big blow to your emotions.

So many women write me and tell me their husbands call them fat and

disgusting. Don`t let this slide by! If your spouse says something like

this, you sit him down and straighten him out! Tell your “not so better”

half that this is unacceptable behavior, and immediately throw his pillows

on the couch in the living room!

If a family member comes over and asks you how much weight you`ve gained and

why you let yourself go, don`t let it slide! Sit that person down and let

them know you don`t appreciate what they said and ask for an apology.

You`re at the office and you overhear a co-worker making an offensive remark

about your size. Don`t let it slide! Confront him or her right away in front

of the people who heard this remark, and let them all know you were hurt and

upset.

If you have an overweight child and you hear other children making fun of

your child`s weight, don`t let it slide! Talk to the children, or better

yet, talk to their parents.

And most importantly, if you get down and start verbally beating up on

yourself, don`t let it slide! Go to the nearest mirror and beg yourself for

forgiveness.

You will never stay on a healthy exercise and eating program if you ignore

all these insults! You really can`t do much of anything if you don`t have

confidence in yourself. You must respect yourself and have others respect

you, too!

There are lots of people out there who are insensitive, and you must not be

afraid of them. I don`t care what you weigh, just hold your head up high,

and be the best you can be!

Love,
