Guest guest
http://www.richardsimmons.com/library/message_of_the_day.asp HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN? 12/27/2001 How long has it been since you`ve done exercise 4 days in a row – okay, 3 days in a row? I don`t see too many hands up! Last week the Surgeon General came out with a lot of statements about being overweight. His study shows that over sixty percent of Americans are either overweight or obese. He also said that children are not getting the proper food in school cafeterias. He`s saying the community should chip in and help out. There wasn`t a great deal in the study about exercise except that he feels that exercise should be put back in schools. A lot of people are very nervous about that study and what can really be done to solve this weighty problem. I said it before, and I`ll certainly say it again. We will always have hang-ups about the food – ALWAYS – but that`s not really the big problem. The big problem is that America is under exercised. I wish the Surgeon General would do a study on that! Getting back to how many times a week you exercise, well, how many days have you personally done in a row? Things have got to change! You must learn to embrace exercise, and you must do it every day. You eat 7 days a week, and you should work the body out 7 days a week. That`s what keeps me safe with my weight. Sure, I may have had a little extra mashed potatoes or stuffing, but it`s okay for me because I know I will work that extra fat off. I have not let up one day because frankly, I can`t. If you don`t do it one day, all of a sudden, it could turn into 5 days and then 2 weeks, and you know how wonderful you feel when you finish your workout! Find the kinds of exercise that will keep you healthy, and pick something you`ll enjoy. Is it walking or light jogging? Is it swimming, or is it my favorite, aerobics? Begin today, please, please, because, my friends, the temptations are making an encore appearance! Soon the New Year`s Eve parties will begin, so do what I do. I don`t shout it out; I SWEAT it out, and speaking of sweating, I`ll be doing a 2-hour class at Slimmons tonight! Love,
