Guest guest
http://www.richardsimmons.com/library/message_of_the_day.asp DON`T TELL ME 12/9/2001 As I sit here reading my e-mail, I`ve come to the conclusion that so many of you still don`t believe you can change your lives, lose the weight, and be successful. Just having the tools is certainly not enough. You know the difference between making a salad at home and going out and eating a BLT with mayonnaise and fries. You know that if you do some walking, it will feel better than not doing anything at all. Yet, you tell me you`re not capable of doing this. I DON’T WANT TO HEAR THAT! IT IS A COPOUT! It`s another excuse you`ve pulled out of a hat. Of course you`ve tried things before. You may have even tried my program, but for some reason, you quit. I don`t want to hear that anymore! I want you to think about certain things this Sunday. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO DO! YOU CAN REACH ANY GOAL THAT YOU WANT TO REACH! Every time you start to tell me that you can`t do it, in your heart you know that you`re saying that you won’t do it. And why won`t you do it? Because it seems like a never-ending story. You can`t see how you`re ever gonna do this, because maybe you`ve never done it before! First you have to think why you want it so badly. That`s the beginning of it all. You sit around and tell me you`ve lost weight before and gained it all back maybe 10 or 15 times, but don`t let this weight thing defeat YOU! Every day that God gives us a new day, we start off fresh, and that`s what I want you to do. Stop giving yourself all those guilt trips! Just because you`ve gained your weight back several times doesn`t mean it has to stay there the rest of your life! I truly think most people don`t make it to where they want to get because the changes seem so big, and for whatever reason, you`re not able to stick to your guns. Well, I`m telling you that YOU`RE GONNA MAKE IT, and I`m telling you that you will wake up tomorrow morning feeling so strong about your commitment, it will even surprise you! Make some decisions today! Here`s what I want you to do this week to get you back on track. Each day change one little thing about your eating. If you`re having a sandwich, take off the top slice and have an open-faced sandwich. If you`re putting cream in your coffee, cut it down to skim milk. If you`re buttering your roll, enjoy that roll without the butter! Tackle some of these first, and then next week, tackle a few more! That way it won`t be so much to do at one time. I hope you`ve done something wonderful this Sunday. Did you write your Christmas cards yet? I certainly hope I get one! Love,
