WANTING IT BAD 11/13/2001

You know how that feels, don`t you? You want to lose this weight so bad, it

actually causes physical pain. Well, I have a dear girlfriend, and she is

not a morning person. Morning for her rolls around at about 8:30! Now I

guess you all are thinking I`m talking about you already! Well anyway, she

put on a few pounds and found that she could not do a lot of things that she

used to do. She made a decision. Decisions are made sometimes with a

sacrifice. She decided to get up one hour earlier in the morning, drive 10

minutes away, swim for 35 minutes, and drive home.

I now know the days she does it and the days she doesn`t. She is a totally

different person on the days she sacrifices that one hour of sleep to head

to the pool and do her laps! Her voice is different. Her attitude is

different. The other day I asked her, “Why do you get up so early and do

this?” She replied, “I want to lose weight, and I want it so bad!”

You see, you can`t lose weight without sacrificing a few things. Eating

healthy is wonderful. You will never, ever, ever, ever see the results you

want to see without making time to exercise.

Why don`t you try what my friend tried? Get up earlier, put on a tape, and

do your aerobics! Get up earlier, and get on your treadmill! Get up earlier,

and take that walk if the weather is okay to walk in! Get up earlier, and do

your crunches – yeah, it`s a fancy word for sit-ups. You should be doing

about 100-125 3 mornings a week. They help your abs and your back, and you

gain great energy from moving those muscles.

Get up earlier, and do some yoga – stretching and meditation. You want to

see these results! You want it so bad! Go to bed a little earlier, and wake

up a little earlier. It will set the rest of the day in a very positive way.

Okay, so you worked the third shift. After you work, go home, sleep, get up,

and then do 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise or take that walk. If you

work and go to school, that`s tough, but if you want it bad, and I know you

do, you`re just gonna have to sacrifice that one hour. The first week will

be a little difficult, but you`ll get into the rhythm, and in 6 weeks,

you`ll send me a dozen red roses to thank me!

So can you start tomorrow? Umm, I don`t want to hear that sigh! Don`t be

afraid of that word “START”!

Love,
