Flagella. This is issue addressed in past and recent posts. The immune system is beaten 27 ways by Lyme once in the body. A 31 positive is positive. Guest guest
Sue, I think this is wise thinking, because those of us who do have the blocked methylation cycles are likely the ones that would get nothing but sicker from any lyme or other treatment without being able to detox, in other words, from bad to worse, adding more to the burden. I hope this works for you! Marcia Re: BAND 31 IS POSITIVE LYME Hi Dr. Schaller, Myself and family have positive 31 Lyme. A Lyme specialist in WA told me 80% of the population would test positive and have Lyme. I am not as concerned as I was when I was first wasdiagnosed. I am more concerned with the whole picture of CFS/Autism link. I have never taken ABX for Lyme and I have had it for 18 years. At this point I am working on opening my Methylation pathways through the Yasko protocol and trying to and include Lyme and part of the big picture later on. My body needs to detox first(looking at genetic mutations first), then I will go from there. There is a chance it may do a lot on it's own once I can balance out. Thanks for everything. Guest guest
Sue, Do your other family members have symptoms? How sick are you? Sorry I have not followed your case here. Are you afraid that antibiotics will do you more harm than good? I tend to think that a huge percentage of the world population is infected with some strain of borrelia. This is causing epidemic levels of MS and Alzheimers, as well as undiagosed so-called Lyme disease. Of course the concern is how the heck do we effectively treat this horrible world crisis in health? I don't think massive doses of antibiotics is the longterm solution, and I gather you don't either. a Carnes > My IGG Results showed nothing except: > > __________________ > > > > > > > > > > **31kDa ++ THIS IS HIGHLY INFLAMMATORY, AUTOIMMUNE AND AGGRESSIVE > PROTEIN THAT IS A FINGERPRINT PROTEIN FOR LYME. Guest guest
Barb, Hi there! I didn't know that breaking up immune complexes was one of the alleged effects of these enzymes, but this is giving me more food for thought. Every time I try to take nattokinase I get a very bad headache (I get a very bad headache whenever something happens, good or bad) Now I thought the nattokinase was breaking down fibrin thus exposing more bugs to my immune system hence the headache, but I am wondering whether this " busting " of immune complexes might be playing a part as well. Any thoughts welcome Nelly Re: BAND 31 IS POSITIVE LYME Sue: You may want to look into some of the supplements who alledge the ability to break appart immune complexes ( such as WobenzymeN). I know a few Lyme patients who couldn't take abx who improved greatly on enzyme therapy. The theory is- you break appart the immune complexes (which can cause problems in their own right if they accumulate in organs complicating inflammatory conditions) then the immune system can operate more efficiently. Klinghart is pretty darned pricey- if you know how to search efficiently, you could do some research on your own and save some bucks. Guest guest
Nelly! Well yes. I took alot of Wobenzyme - with and without abx (it interacts with some substances). I never had a C1q test - but since I had been dx with lupus - I figured I had 'em. The Germans make some pretty good enzymatic therapies- Muco Pharma - they make Wobenzym & Phlogenzym (phlogenzym is precription I beleive) There is some reseach out there- but you have to dig for it. Guest guest
There is a woman in my doc's office who got covered with ticks on a trip to Martha's Vineyard in 1993. Though she thought she got them all off, she soon after fell sick. She had all the typical lyme symptoms including partial paralysis, off and on over the years. She is now well. She didn't realize until recently, with a positive Igenex test, that it was ever lyme. In fact, what really crashed her was vaccinations at college (but that's typical of lyme--your system is so under stress from it than any other burden including heavy metals utterly crashes it). She is well by going to a doctor that put her on a strict ayurvedic diet, tons of supplements, oral chelation (where she tasted metal, broke out in rashes etc), colonics (where sometimes it came out yellow, sometimes black tar stuff, sometimes tons of parasites), and finally IV chelation. After the first IV chelation she had the chills, shivers, diarrhea, and slept for 17 hours straight. It has been two years. She is completely symptom free. SHe is still on a strict ayurvedic diet. There are almost no grains, and there is no dairy I believe. > > My IGG Results showed nothing except: > > > > __________________ > > > > > > > > > > > > **31kDa ++ THIS IS HIGHLY INFLAMMATORY, AUTOIMMUNE AND > AGGRESSIVE > > PROTEIN THAT IS A FINGERPRINT PROTEIN FOR LYME. Guest guest
Jill: The something still isn't right. If you are on such a strict diet, then the body's operating tolerance is almost nil. I lived that way for over 20 years. To me- thatg's not symptom free. Barb Jill wrote in part: It has been two years. She is completely symptom free. SHe is still on a strict ayurvedic diet. Guest guest
Barb, if you can't take antibiotics, which I can't, it's worth it. She's completely symptom free--not one single symptom left--flying to Puerto Rico and other places, commissioned to write four different plays, back in the swing of life. If changing the terrain of her body and keeping it that clean, is the way to keep the lyme in check (I'm thinking either, since that clean, her body can handle the lyme and/or that changing the terrain keeps the lyme quiescent and dormant) then hey, that would work for me too. If I could be completely well and live the life I used to, while watching my diet, who cares. I don't need beer, bread and cheese. IF that would work. However, I'm not sure I love the ayurvedic diet but I'm thinking of going to him. He has a few other lyme patients who apparently are well by his approach, with no antibiotics. We're dealing with a difficult situation here. You responded extremely well to your regimen, but I can't tolerate even that regimen. I'm still messed up from 2 weeks of amoxicillin in November. She, like me, can't handle antibiotics. After 5 days of cipro for a staph infection it took her 4 months to recover. She sounds like the patients Dr Schaller is talking about. You have to do what you have to do to regain your quality of life, if you're faced with an organism (or organisms) this virulent and stealthy. > > > > My IGG Results showed nothing except: > > > > > > > > __________________ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > **31kDa ++ THIS IS HIGHLY INFLAMMATORY, AUTOIMMUNE > AND > > > AGGRESSIVE > > > > PROTEIN THAT IS A FINGERPRINT PROTEIN FOR LYME. Guest guest
Barb, I am concerned that Lyme disease may be affecting my heart. How would a cardiologist diagnose a heart problem as being caused by Lyme infection? Thanks for any comments.
