Guest guest
Joyce, You don't need to take a lot of antibiotics if the Marshall Protocol works. a Carnes > My test from Igenex IGG was positive 3 different ways. I am feeling sad. Antibiotics destroy my gut as well as the quality of my life! I guess I will have to go on them. Also my vit. D level25 was high. I guess I am fitting into a pattern with some of you. Any suggestions? I will go off of my Vit D supplements. My hMO will send me to their infectious disease expert. I want to go in armed with which antibiotics and how to take them. Thanks for your help! joyce kaye jamkaye@m... > >
Guest guest
I don't know which antibiotics are best, but how about IV antibiotics? They don't cripple your gut? Does anyone know how Dr. Cheney treats Lyme? Regards, Blake joyce kaye wrote: >My test from Igenex IGG was positive 3 different ways. I am feeling sad. Guest guest
Until they get lyme caught up with other bugs like staph the treatment of it via abx is likely to continue to stay in stone age. They need to be able to culture the organisms and determine which abx are suitable. I think a few courses with orals may be better than nothing and hopefully jump start your immune system enough to be able to handle things when you come off. I think IV is too big a deal to do considering that you won't know what abx affect you. I did mention on another list that IGeneX would hopefully be able to culture the organisms in the future when they get a new building and set about to do this--but can't be done in their current building b/c it has to be a separate facility from the one they do PCR in like right now where they're at. But yeah, just like Shoemaker can do deep nasal swab and send it to Esoterix for culturing, so too should lyme labs be able to do this and I hope to see this in the future. Guest guest
This is good news! Now you know that your illness is likely caused by infection and not some mysterious unknown agent that you'll never be able to figure out and remain sick the rest of your life. All you got to do is beat the buggers and you're home free--not that it will be easy battle. Consider yourself blessed. Guest guest
Also, I often see this happen again and again. Long term CFSer gets lyme test and finds out they are pos and their mouth drops wide open and they get sad. If you have read reports by other docs like Harvey and , it should not surprise you that the vast majority of folks in here have lyme. Now I guess it is so shocking b/c some of us were brainwashed to stand behind our label of CFS and fight for our right to be CFSers in our mind, but it really doesn't matter in the end. Other than the fact that maybe you wasted years not properly focusing your battle and being duped into a hopeless label and spending thousands on doc appts and supplements and ignoring all the warnings from the lyme folks who knew better all along, you should not feel stupid; you should feel smart for taking a step in the right direction and coming to terms with reality. Better late than never--look to the future, not the past. Lyme is but one more agent in our body to bring us down and not always necessarily the only agent that made us sick. But having said that, it doesn't belong in our body and it killed my next door neighbor's dog, so it should not be taken lightly either. But yes, the treatment of lyme is very lame b/c like I said, there is no current system to culture organisms and tell you which abx to use. I'm sorry the lyme community has not focussed on this and they should demanded this years ago. It took listening to aussie man Tony on the MP list to realize that lyme should be treated the same way TB and chronic staph infections are--with some very easily applied science of culturing.
