Guest guest
I never had the problem of elevated liver enzymes from GG nor have I heard about anyone else with this reaction before. Have not heard about it being a side affect either. I wonder if it is possible it was caused by something else? But if it happened to Gayathri it might not be a bad idea to have them checked before & after GG treatments to monitor it.
Guest guest
why do you think your liver enzymes elevated? Did your doctor speculate on that? Maybe I'll google that to see if it's a side effect of gamma. Thx. > > Thanx...how often do you do it? I am going to try it. Guest guest
I just googled it--and I see that autoimmune hepatitis (occurring " naturally " ) is usually linked to elevated gammaglobulins in the blood. So I guess you could have had a temporary autoimmune heptatis artificialliy induced by the gamma. Thanx for mentioning this, I will ask my doc, and I will probably get liver function monitored. I wasn't planning on doing it weekly anyway, and was also going to start very slow. I don't know how many grams are in the bottle anyway...I will ask about that too. Guest guest
I am very sure my liver enzymes got elevated due to GG . My doctor did not plan to monitor my liver enzymes when I was on IVIG. Probably he too thought this might not occur. But after my third infusion, he just did his routine blood panel and found my liver enzymes were very elevated. We stopped the IVIG and after 3 weeks, the liver enzymes came to normal values. Thanks, Gayathri. > I wonder if it is possible it was caused by something else? >
